Let me take another shot at this fake claim Ben is making.

Puns faked a miller claim. 5tar came up as a flavor cop. We had a miller flavor revealed. None of these facts point to a cop existing. Of course they don't point to a cop not existing either. But I feel like this game is meant to mess with B8 meta. We have a lot of non-traditional type roles. Instead of a vig we have kingmaker. Instead of doctor we have Corrik's delay role. Instead of a cop we have a flavor cop. I don't think we have another scanner, but if we do I don't think it's a traditional cop.

But specifically, why don't I think there's another scanner. We have a number of forms of protection already, Corrik's role, Lolo's BG, and Mayor. Given that none of them are as strong as a doc you might think that a lot of protection makes sense and doesn't rule out another scanner. Except, I'm fairly certain I have another protection type role pegged. That would make 4 protection types.

But really only one scanner in a game with 21 players? Actually yes. It forces people to rely on reads and not on power. With all this protection floating around town gets the advantage of extending the game, which means more solid reads. The extra time mitigates the need for a second scanner. And like I said it forces town to rely on their reads and not their power.

I think that Han has setup a wonderful set of roles. I actually think Ben is playing a great game right now. He's making the kind of play I 100% support. He's relying on his read not on town power. It was a good calculated risk. But it was still a risk.

I'm not sure I can put my read any clearer than that, without going into details on what I think about that last role, which I'm unwilling to do at this point. But I'm going to stick around for a little while to answer questions about that in case what I said only makes sense in my mind.

I think roleblocking would indeed fit as a type of protection and fit a game that forces you to rely on reads. But I won't comment more than that about the role I'm referring to.

How are you certain they have a strongman?

That was the prevailing opinion on how Chris died. Strongman killed Chris N1, bypassed Lolo's protection. But Corrik's role delayed the death one night.

Yes, and then Corrik clamed to save Lolo. My vote on Lolo was largely because of the protection out there. Already had Corrik, Mayor, and the person I'm thinking of.

I've had Corrik as a town read most of the game. After D1 he was my weakest town read of all the town reads I had. That progressed over time. I explained my stance on Corrik during D3 when I was trying to debunk Ben's argument against Tom using confidence levels on his reads.

Alright so...

Options are.

1. Lynch a guilty scan from Ben. If Ben is faking, we don't want to do this, and it'll be self resolving, so we can just leave his two guilty scans on the table. No reason to rush these.
2. Lynch Ben. If Ben isn't faking, we don't want to do this, and the claim is self resolving. No reason to rush this.
3. Lynch Lolo. If Corrik was right with the kill explanation, he'll be dead tomorrow as one of two kills. If Corrik was wrong, we lynch Lolo tomorrow. It's probably not a great option to lynch him today. -EV, lock to lynch tomorrow if survives.
4. Lynch Cam. He had very suspicious voting yesterday and on dowolf and the theory that he got mafia recruited explaining the non-kill last night has some value. With the idea that a cop is in the game, this has no downsides! The theory of a flavor miller should be out the window as an actual cop apparently exists.
5. Lynch Lea. Also kinda suspicious with voting and the claim is clearly nonsense.

I think we should go with option 4 or 5, myself.

Two scum lynched already, and you got two guilty scans as a town cop? You see a potential mislynch, and you don't just claim your scans then and there? That's really really suspicious, considering you basically nailed down 4/5 or 4/6 scum with that move. Hell I'd probably just reveal em at the beginning of the day, no need to risk getting killed at night. You've basically won the game for town at that point.
