Yeah, Jim is legitimately awful for a lot of his run. He does help Dwight out a few times way, way, way later on, though. Tim from the British version was less obnoxious.

Yeah but then you'd have to watch the British version which is terrible.

The British version tells a much more cohesive, meaningful story although a lot of the jokes are kinda meh. Then again,a lot of the humor on the US version is meh as well.

The narrative elements in the US version just really never made any sense, since they filmed many, many years for a documentary and then the fallout from the documentary wasn't as interesting.

Seriously? I'm totally anti-bully, but I mean most of the stuff between Jim and Dwight was just kidding/fun, I don't remember Jim every doing anything really harmful to Dwight or hurting his feelings, and I kinda always got an undertone of them being actually buddies and caring for each other behind it all.

It was just office humor not being cruel.

The blond girl that Dwight dated (Forget her name) was meaner to him if I remember right.

Anyway, thought the show was a blast, although parks and rec was better for me over all. Never really liked Micheal scott (just don't really like his kind of humor) but most of the rest of the cast was good.

He wasn't. It also is always ignored in these topics for some reason that Dwight spends large swathes of the series being a huge asshole to his coworkers as part of a desperate power trip. Anyone who has ever worked a dead-end office job knows someone like him who trips on every ounce of power they're given.

Dude literally had zero problem taking away his coworkers health insurance in the second (or third, I cant remember).

I love Dwight, but the worst thing Jim ever did was go after an engaged woman, and shit, I do that all the time.

Gone after as in hit on and flirted with? Yes, many times. Gone after as in attempted to have a relationship with? No, but who knows what life will bring

I'm not down with cheating but if I remember right, the guy pam was engaged to was kinda ignoring her and she wasn't really happy or something like that, and I think Jim basically stayed away and didn't hit on her until he saw that.

I tried rewatching the office awhile ago, but couldn't handle micheal, It was ok when I watched it with my wife, I could watch many things I didn't like that much etc, but just sitting there watching it solo, I gave up before the first season ended.

Without jim Pam would have married Roy and had a couple kids and either left him when she was 40 and feeling unfulfilled or stayed with him until one of them died

With jim she left him and had a couple kids and either stayed with him until she was 40 and left him because their love died or stayed with him until one of them died

Dwight was a little too intense. Sometimes he just needed to be taken down a peg, and Jim fit that bill nicely without going too overboard.

Worse than that was how Angela treated most people. She cheated on practically every person she dated except dwight. And treated Phyllis like garbage.

Great show though. I always come back to it when I need a laugh.

I'd go for pam over Rashida actually, she was good on parks and rec though, never knew she was in both of em lol.

Pam has cute level 3 or 4 going on, but Amy has cute level 5 or 6.

I like cute.

Rashida is fine, but doesn't have a high cuteness level to me, pretty but not super cute.

That is of course just my take on it.

You never get to see Amy's PoV, but Jim just ups and leaves her with no explanation. For her, it must've been a really crappy date. She probably became an alcoholic afterwards, and due to low purse sales, she wound up homeless too.

I haven't watched The Office since it was first on, but I thought Jim pranked Dwight only when Dwight was being a real stickler for something that wasn't that important, just to get him to knock it off. Were there times when Jim was mean for no reason?
