But its from TruTV, that has about as much to do with facts as the History channel has to do with history.

Except this show does fact checks, gets people on the show that actually know what they're talking about(except for the "lactation expert"), shows references on where they get their info from, and will admit and correct themselves if they actually do get something wrong.

They don't get actual experts though, and put fake titles on them to make them seem smarter.
Adam Ruins Everything did it once with the "lactation expert" but that was the exception, not the rule.

No, because they put their name and title, it's not hard to see if it's real or not. Everyone else from past episodes check out except for this supposed "lactation expert".

Lactation experts are real. They offer their services to help with things such as with breastfeeding (for example: difficultly with latching).

Met one and if anything they are too peppy. Can't handle that kind of energy and enthusiasm in the morning

I know, but the one they got for the show wasn't a real one.

"Can't" is a strong word because you can fake just about anything. The landing clearly happened, though.

One of my favorite ones is actually quite simple.

At the time we did the moon landing, the cinematic technology that would have been required to fake the landing (without, well, making it quite clear to soviet and other scientists that it was faked) would actually have cost MORE to develop and perfect and use within the time frame they had, than the technology necessary for an ACTUAL mission to the moon.

Computers (or what we called "computers") back then couldn't really, well, be useful in faking stuff.

The computer they did manage to make for the Apollo space, incidentally, had 2k of ram, and managed about 1 Mhz in clock speed. It could perform about 40000 instructions per second.

I won't even bother bringing up smart phones. Those things are basically OP. Instead, lets bring up the Texas Instruments TI-83 Graphing calculator. Which is to say, the original. Not the +, or that newer model with backlighting and color.

The classic TI-83 calculator. Well, it has, um, 6Mhz, 32k of ram, and from my quick search I couldn't find any "instructions per second" value because people nowadays prefer to use Flops instead. Suffice to say its probably a lot better at those too though.

And the Apollo computer was actually an incredible leap forward in computing power at the time. They really did go all in on trying to advance and miniturize the limited computational technology of the time.

THis is a good short read if you are curious about someone talking about the under-apeciated computer of the Apollo probes.
