It was right around when I was starting to see them all over the place in my own city. So Mackey's reaction of "where the fuck are all these scooters coming from?" just hit the nail on the head. The voice actor for Chef got pissed when they picked on Scientology. So they had to kill the character off. Which was dumb and hypocritical because he was more than happy to comply with ripping on every other religion.
