However in typical Nintendo fashion, you also have to figure out what makes it unique compared to other games in that same genre. MK8 has a few guest characters but it's kept in check, and they were all added as an afterthought either as DLC or in a deluxe edition. It's like how Brawl was really still a Nintendo fighting game with two guests. But now Ultimate is really basically a video game FFA.
