The debates are spectacle, and "who won" is largely seen as being dominant. I was once at a party and playing a game where people had to imitate Trump's voice, which is actually very high pitched and whiny, but everyone made him sound really tough and manly. His false tough guy routine resonates - despite obviously being a very effeminate prissy rich guy.

One thing I did think was lame of Biden last night was that he only half-heartedly defended the TPP, saying that he would do a trade deal with those countries but that he would get a better deal. Its fine if he really believes that it wasnt good enough, but Im guessing that, like Clinton in 2016, he just decided it wasnt worth the heat to defend it.

(Im even more annoyed with the Dems that similarly buy into this better deal nonsense with the Iran Deal like Booker did in debate 1. The deal was a major accomplishment from the last Democratic president; they shouldnt be afraid to say so!)

Looks like Brexit party played legitimate spoiler while Labour managed to avoid doing so, though? I'll be the first to admit to not being especially knowledgable on UK politics, but it looks to me like this is a result that, while good for the country given what a shitshow Brexit has been so far, is not something people should be relaxed over (i.e just looking at the numbers I have a feeling it might swing back in a general election <_<)

You are correct but this is the honeymoon period for Boris - PMs never perform as well electorally as their first few months on the job. Lib Dems need to be careful about this one but they can flip some Tories to balance out Tory gains from the Brexit Party. Also I think if BXP stood down but UKIP disn't msny would not vote or would vote UKIP. Should be close but not inevitable.

Worth noting that Labour barely kept their deposit lol (you need to get 5% to get your 500 deposit back) and a joke party that attempts to do as badly as possibly in all circumstances beat UKIP.

I don't think it's likely, but he has given up and nominated okay people when he couldn't handle the heat before (like Chris Wray for FBI director; I'm sure Trump would have loved to have had a stooge there, but after he fired Comey it would have been very politically costly for him to nominate someone who was clearly going to run interference for him. Of course, he did end up doing that with Barr after Sessions).

Yes but America is only in control of its own actions. If Russia is going to escalate their arsenal, then I think America should escalate theirs in turn if it's necessary to continue acting as a deterrent. (While also encouraging de-escalation from both parties) If you guys just meant fuck in a general sense of "things ar escalating and that sucks", then I can agree with that.
