god i should have realized, from when stanley's flashback about his brother's dead randomly mentioned dry ice

even when kano mistakenly suspected the truck earlier (my earlier post) i still didn't realize where it was going

okay, chapter complete.

i don't have time to reach the ending right now though so i'll continue tonight.

whoops, i didn't update this again

suffice to say the last chapter was thrilling, the epilogue was very nice (though i'm not a fan of osawa dying because of contrived reasons - of course when the good guys have everything under control, someone has to get emotional and fuck it up, meh, not a fan of that trope. but at least they leave it open ended enough you can decide for yourself if he lives or not)

just absolutely fantastic game over all, made me care about every character, was incredibly emotional more than it had any right to be for a police thriller or whatever genre this is, and brilliantly interwoven plot that brought together every detail while giving every character an arc. total masterpiece, for sure.

glad i played it and got past my initial preconceptions from the visuals.

(and oh my god, sorry to say, but WAY more enthralling than Umineko. Like a night and day difference in terms of my urge to continue with this game, not just from the pacing but also because I genuinely liked every character in this game so there was never a single part where I didn't care about who was on my screen)

anyone have any recommendations for my next visual novel? I have Steins;Gate but is there some new version being released soon I should be waiting for?

There's four late story options by the main characters choosing how to deal with the situation. Choosing a certain theme for all four unlocks a new ending. There are a few changes and some extra character stuff, plus a new final scene

i liked canaan 10 years ago, when i had no clue of its backstory. im sure it would be more enjoyable now, but I remember almost none of the plot
