I bought Demon's Souls a few years ago on sale and never played it.

I recently hooked up my PS3 and going to play some games that aren't available on current gen and of course, Demon's Souls is one of those games.

I also have Dark Souls 1 on PC. I only played about an hour of it or less. Not enough to form any opinion whatsoever.

It's tough to say. The Demon's servers were shut down last year. The experience isn't what it once was.

I always played it solo and really enjoyed it. Been so long, but I still have it myself and need to replay it. Boss fights were a bit more simplistic, and honestly Dark Souls 1 controlls were pretty bad when replaying recently, so the Demon Souls controls may seem really bad to me now (Wasn't a problem when I played it initially though).

It's my favourite souls game. The only thing I don't like about it is the obtuse world tendency mechanic.

I seem to be in the minority of people who prefer the hub/stage select it has as opposed to the more open world design of the dark souls games.

The combat is a bit more clunky, but at the same time faster. And some of the weapons and magic are crazy overpowered.

I think the only thing I prefer in dark souls is the flask for healing.

Demon's Souls is just different.

If you're asking if it is worth playing, I would say absolutely yes. It has its unique experience playing it.

Well it did at one point anyway, and unfortunately a few items are inaccessible as a result of servers shutting down.

It's great. I like the atmosphere more than the other games in the series (except for maybe bloodborne, if you count that as being in the same series...)

The gameplay, imo, is the worst in the series, but not by much. A decent amount of the bosses are "puzzle" bosses, which I loved.

There's an aesthetic to it that I prefer over all the other games. The controls are a little chunky by todays standards, but I still quite enjoy it.
