AG Bill Barr announced that the federal gov't would resume executions for the first time since 2003, setting Purkey and 4 others on death row to die as Barr called them "the worst criminals" But Rebecca Woodman told dailymail that Mr. Purkey is not the 'worst of the worst' of the bunch and said he grew up in a house of horrors, beaten and humiliated by his parents and subjected to extensive and ongoing sexual abuse by members of his family. They were basically born and through a series of butterfly effects, were unable to not become that monster. I don't think they should be legally killed for that reason. Plus the whole "citizens getting killed by their government" always seems questionable. Normally, its already a long time until they execute someone for many reason like making sure they have the right person, and because prisoners on death row might use a stay of execution, which can lengthen it, too. But, they also stopped doing it for a while, and apparently started to resume it. I think the "inevitable margin of error" is reason enough to not have the death penalty, because life in prison vs death doesnt even matter.
