Well Xbox game pass added Bards tale 4 (which has been on my wishlist since before it released but was never on sale enough). Luckily it wasn't, since I just got it for free.

Anyway, really enjoying it actually, although it kept crashing on me earlier...the last time I lost over an hour of play because I always absorbed the save points (For exp). I was very frustrated, but....it took maybe 30 minutes for me to redo it all.

I dropped the graphic settings and it didn't crash at all after that, so perhaps that will avoid it in the future.

Surprised people didn't like it/talk about it more tbh, it's quite decent. The combat is very tactical, although on normal difficulty it's a bit easy (probably need to up the difficulty eventually.

I've heard it's quite long as well. Which is even more impressive considering how good it looks.

When I finish up my Fire Emblem play-through I am going to give this a try. Was surprised to see it on gamepass.

It's possible people were disappointed that it went back to the continuity of the original Bard's Tale series, rather than continuing the more comedic tone of the reboot title from the early 2000s. While that game wasn't a huge success either, it probably still has more fans today than a setting that hasn't really been meaningful since 1988.
