Im in the market for new rotors because my stock tophats are near bad according to the dealer. I mean I knew they were not in condition already but I thought Id go another 5k with them. Id rather bite the bullet and replace them soon myself. Is there a big difference between regular rotors and drilled and slotted ones? Do you recommend getting ones that are zinc plated (the black ones) and will they prevent rusting in the vanes? And finally what brands of after market rotors are good?

The higher priced ones are mainly for sports cars. I forgot the ones I got but don't go low end.

Replace an otherwise great car just because something thats designed to wear out wears out and takes an hour to replace?

Brakes and rotors need replacement every 4 years. I dropped I think $1000 for mine. Front and back. It needed it bad.

Cheaper to do it yourself. Next time a guy at work who does his will show me so I can learn.

Yeah eventually in a few years I'm gonna buy the right tools and gears and do most things like even oil change at home. A few people at my work do that and they'll show me. Right now don't got the money.

Mine lasted 70k miles and 6 years. Could technically go another 5k or 6 months but Im not risking it

Also you could just borrow tools from friends at work. I lend tools out to friends all the time as long as they agree to not use them for any other purpose than they were designed. ie using a ratcheting socket wrench to break torque is bad for the
