Gaming Disorder is gaming addiction; being detrimental to your life. So, it's an extreme counterpart to normal gaming.
Do transgenderism/transsexuality have a similar relationship with gender dysphoria, or Not?

I've seen a trans person complaining on Discord that they were forced to leave a server because they were being harassed 'cuz people thought they were mentally ill.
Of course, it's not right to have done that, especially if the harassed has some medical condition. But the question is, is it true?
Obviously, it makes sense that you wouldn't admit to yourself you're mentally ill if you're not used to being self-honest and realistic. I think the kind of person to deny a medical condition (and I'm not saying trans have one; I'm questioning either way) is not used to doing either.
Also, it makes sense that if you see something as an insult you won't give any credibility to it.

So, what gives?

Is it a medical disorder? Is it unhealthy?
Doctors and transsexuals would be great to have in a discussion like this, but this is a gaming board after all - I can't expect that. So if you're not either, try to be open-minded.

From my non-researched point of view, I don't think you can be transsexual in the literal sense of the word. You can't go beyond your physical sex (trans>transcendental). I'm aware that might be a fundamental misunderstanding of what it means to be transsexual, but if the word means anything other than that, then maybe use transgender instead.

By the way, there's a difference between transgender and transsex. Also, I'm using the word "trans" alone as meaning "either of those two".

I have a feeling the rabbit hole runs much, much deeper. That kind of annoys me.

you usually get called a transphobe if you bring that up in such a way or you are just trying to start some trouble

however it's something that a lot of people explain by stating that the reason that's the case is because people bully them more often than non trans-people

but i think it's more than just that

Uhhhhh.... If you're arguing that feeling that you were born in the wrong body is a form of body dymorphism or another disorder, obviously somebody who actually feels that way will think that it's not an image disorder. I'm not sure what you expect. Unless this topic isn't about a perceived image issue and instead is about whether being born in the wrong body is a medical issue. I'm honestly not sure what you're trying to argue in this topic in general.

it doesnt have to be one or the other. you can advocate for dental coverage being funded without throwing anyone else under the bus. i cant get glasses funded and i need those to function day to day. all of these things can and should be covered. there are lots of ways our medical system is inefficient and trans people getting surgery is not the cause

Try to question and criticize everything. That's how you learn. You can and should. It's definitely a "sensitive" subject, but I believe that, for any subject considered sensitive, it only hurts the people that try to learn about it.

Yes, it's whether "being born in the wrong body is a medical issue", or a thing that's possible to begin with. I'm not arguing a point, I'm questioning to try to come out with a better understanding.
And, I'm literally not familiar with non-binary people, I know the term exists, but I don't fully comprehend the scope of its usage.

I always took it as one of two things.

1. The brain was wired for them to be a the opposite sex

2. their body didn't grow the proper sex organ for their body.

It is a genetic mess up either way. Doesn't mean they should be treated as less then human. But the conversaiton of how to handle the situation is needed. I also don't think we have the technology to properly handle the situation. We can't exactly switch someones organs and have them function as normal, you can't switch what you were born with unfortunately. I also feel some don't really have the problem and are just mentally unstable, want attention, or some other mental gymnastics reason. The question is how to tell these people apart from the ones that have a genetic issue. It also should be a lot more then just let people do what they want. Unfortunately we just lack the proper research as this is a new issue.

Perhaps. But it is as I pointed out: this thread has already become a horrible mess. Admittedly, it was a bit nave of you to post that on GFAQs to begin with...! This is a real thing called androgen syndrome iirc and 99% of the modern trans community does not fall into this category.
