They should get Gilbert Gottfried to yell "AERIS" at the top of his voice exactly two different ways, and have the game dub every occurrence with one of them chosen at random.

Bonus points if the mocap includes them clearly screaming it.

I don't really care either way. I'll usually still call her Aeris in person if that ever happens and Aeris online maybe, but I'm not bothered by calling her Aerith. I used to replay FF7 many years back and changed her name to Aerith, so I'm pretty neutral about the whole thing.

Imagine thinking th in a word gives you a lisp.

Yes, that wasn't the original line anyway, which was closer to "don't say such morbid things." She's responding to Barrett lamenting not telling his adopted daughter goodbye before embarking on this risky mission into Shinra HQ.

The American translation is an uncharacteristically harsh rebuke from the painstakingly polite Tifa and doesn't really make sense in the larger game context. One wonders if the translation team knew the whole game and its characters before starting to translate the lines or if they simply translated whatever was in front of them on the screen, line by line.
