Well I am one of those people that will buy it just because it's Pokemon..can't help it
I am very anti-hyped and I just realized it's a month away and I just..don't care
This game will probably come with a 60 Metascore right away, people that get early will say it disappoints them, and in general there will be a negative feeling towards the game
And yet I will still buy it

It's not just the Dexit. It's the direction Pokemon has been going for the last 6 years, ever since the release of Pokemon X and Y
Spin off games turned into freemium, filled with microtransactions and pay-to-win
The main games turned into linear adventures with tons of hand-holding
It's also reading interviews with Masuda that makes me think there is no hope for the main games in the near future. You can easily understand that they don't care about making the games good, they care about making the games "easy to play" as to not scare away childrens that play the games just because of the Pokemon brand name

However If they are really not showing much because they realized how dumb it was to spoil 80% of Sun and Moon, then I must thank them for that. However, I do fear it's because they don't have much to show...

Never gonna happen. The Pokemon Company makes most of its money from merchandise, so any excuse to make a new Charizard or a new Mewtwo, etc. they're gonna jump at, because it means they can sell new merch. Why do you think they changed Mewtwo's armour in the remake of Pokemon the Movie?

Presumedly, since Gigantimax is a step above Dynamax and Dynamax already gives a stat boost

It's so people don't accidentally evolve them and lose the ability to have the form.

It's likely the Gigantamax forms of the unevolved forms will be atleast as powerful as the Dynamax forms of the evolved forms, so it'll likely end up a push.

As far as we know so far, Dynamax only gives a 50% HP boost and changes the Pokemon's moveset. But there's also some Dynamax Level parameter, and we don't know what it's for yet.

Obviously gen 1 was an amazing start for the series and most people like me like it

I feel like they're going to eventually run the well dry with finding ways to pander to Gen 1 Pokemon. There's still more Gen 1 Pokemon that have received absolutely nothing (new forms, pre-evolution, evolution, exclusive moves) in their entire history. We've got things like Tauros, Lapras, and Dragonite that have not gotten anything yet. Although Lapras will be getting something soon, as it was mentioned in the Ben Affleck leak as getting a Gigantamax form.

...What? There are normal Eevees in the game that can evolve. Only the special one can't.

And the Affleck leak says Meowth has both a Gigantimax and a Galar evolution, so there's nothing saying Eevee can't.

other Eevees in the game can still evolve, just not the specific one you get for having Lets Go data. I dont think this precludes them from including a new Eevelution at all.

My gut reaction is they wouldn't want people who train the special Eevee on their team being upset when it can't evolve into the new Eeveelution, but that's not stopping them from having an unevolvable Meowth when it's supposed to be getting some new evolution too, so

Alternate forms of Pokemon that can't evolve because they're event giveaways aren't new. They've been doing that since gen 4. I don't know why people are acting surprised to learn about mechanics that have been in use for a decade.

I'd like a bit more confirmation on that last one, since it sounds like it's possible to run into an exclamation point before you even see it, so it's possible the guy got confused. Not that it matters to me, personally, since I love the overworld Pokemon, but people being able to go completely random and not just hit the exclamation points would be nice for those that want it.

EDIT: Nevermind, it's been confirmed by a second source:

Batch of info better than the last two trailer/stream things. That wild Pokmon at high levels thing is cool. I wonder if they will ever bring back difficulty options. The one time they tried they made poor use of it since you couldnt start a game on Hard from the get go

Well, looks like the speedrun is going to be a legit version of the glitched Platinum run. (For those who don't know, you glitch to get a couple high level Tentacruels to steamroll the game.)

I'm pretty sure they said back in E3 that you can't catch the Pokemon way stronger than you. Or at least not right away. I wanna say I remember the example being a level 26 Machoke while the party was around level 12.

It sounds like the "can't" is more... You'll probably die before you do, or not have the proper Pokeball, or not have it listen to you, anyway, and not a physical "can't."

Also, doesnt this one have an autosave? So its not like you could just throw all your Pokeballs then reload and try again.

Yeah, it's possible to catch legendaries at full health with a Pokball, so catching these high level Pokmon is possible with enough perseverance.

I'm not so sure that that many Pokemon are actually going to be cut. There's been plenty of redundancy shown off so far. Three of the four Grass/Ghost lines are in. Whimsicott is in despite Eldegoss, Roggenrola is in despite Rolycoly, Slurpuff in despite Alcremie, Machop and Timburr both in, Hitmons and Sawk/Throh all in, etc... I'm thinking it's going to be mostly legendaries and maybe starters and then just a few other random things that are gone. Well and Megas and probably most/all Alolans.

Pidove wasnt obtainable in gen 7 without transferring from an old game. Maybe theyre placing some priority on bringing back stuff that wasnt in the Alola dex.

also I guess if Corviknight is the bird for this gen, that leaves an opening for a normal/flying bird too without being totally redundant.
