Bump with an update.

After dropping Pokemon Masters, I'm down to three games again. I'm saving for Musashi Nana in Revue Starlight ReLIVE and Ultimate Madoka in Magia Record right now. I'm also grinding the Darc event in Magia Record to clean out the event store and leveling up a new team in Girls' Frontline. I don't see any games coming out soon that I might be tempted to try, but maybe something will pop up. Until then, I'm just sticking with these three.

I started Tales of Erin recently. While I like the game a lot, it has a cubic shit ton of bugs to work out. The game crashes during battles so often. Like I'm lucky to get through even one or two massive battles without it crashing. This wouldn't be so bad if the game didn't take 2 minutes to start back up. Literally every other gacha I've played starts up in less than half the time. And what's worse is that since it automatically counts as a loss, I don't get to contribute and just have to go back to open the battle, then invite people and pray that they can finish the fight for me. Also one time I bought gems but didn't get them. I contacted them via messenger on their FaceBook page, and despite it saying that they usually respond in a few hours, I haven't heard from them for over a week.

Also I'm waiting on SINoALICE which was supposed to come out in June or July I think, but was indefinitely delayed.

Dragalia Lost has helped me stock up orbs in FEH and vice versa.

But fuck me, Dragalia's latest story chapter is so bad I'm beginning to migrate to another gacha because this is gonna take about another year minimum before I get the units I want. Maybe Girls Frontline?

Try Mobius Final Fantasy.

The story actually makes real, tangible progress and there's an ongoing FF8 event right now that is super easy & perfect for beginners. The Gacha doesn't have units though. They're abilities that you mix with a job to create a loadout.

Holy fuckamoly, new Specialty Change announced for E7

Carrot is a burn status based unit... which burn has commonly been either ultra broken or completely useless, so who knows. Most of the SCs have usually been pure utility or pure carry, so I think she's the first status based one. Here's hoping she's pretty good

So the new event in Revue Starlight ReLIVE turns Rui and Fumi into badass samurai. Fumi is the free "grind the event" stage girl,and Rui is the big gacha pull... who I got without spending a single gem because I got lucky and pulled her in the three free pulls that they gave everyone.

I'm very intrigued with Arknights. The trailers were spectacular, and even though I was a bit disappointed to learn that it's a Tower Defense game rather than an orthodox waifu gacha, I'm still gonna get it. Is it related to Girls Frontline in any way? The art style and dark story seem remarkably similar.

Of course skins are actually purchasable with stones in this game, only need 1800 stones for all sorts of other goodies too. It's usually worth 1800 even without the skin

Carrot SC requires you to have a lvl 50 Carrot to initiate. She... seems pretty decent. Detonating burn actually does a ton of damage, her s2 passive is generally considered her best aspect. She might work as a tanky counter attacker but it doesn't seem practical. You have 20% counter attack from the counter set and 30% to activate detonate. 30% to detonate without soulburn seems... weak. I think they held back a bit much because detonate is considered pretty broken

Ok, I just read on her more and she's way better than I thought she'd be. Her Flame Barrier is now 100% to barrier her on attack as well as burning the attacker, and she gets a passive 25% damage reduction when she's full HP, which is reeeally good. Got 25% HP buff as well. S1 also pushes her CR by 10% so counter is pretty good on her

Stacking HP/Attack and building Lifesteal or Counter might actually be good

Yeah. Like instead of pulling for a unit, you get shards where you need 30 or 100 of them to acquire a unit based on rarity

What the hell is that system lol. I'd quit any gacha that has that. D:

Aurora Legends had that system. But you had like a way to convert a generic shard into that character's shard and had a standard small 5* chance of just fully rolling that unit. But then to like max their merges or whatever it was called, you need a truckload of shards.

I think it is unhealthy, but at the same time it's not the worst system to eventually get a specific character as long as you save up

I think it's actually an overall good system, however, it's usually implemented in horrible ways where the best characters straight up do not have a chance to drop shards anywhere, including the gacha, and can come only from packages or by doing pvp where you have to compete with people who already have the character, who are doing it because even after unlocking the character you need more shards to fully upgrade them.

Yeah any system that puts too much end-game emphasis on owning multiple copies of a rare character is automatically terrible.

E7 does it pretty well, where multiple copies are only useful for upgrading your character with less effort or unlocking imprints which contribute to like 1-2% of a stat it boosts per merge, which is usually negligible unless it's a speed imprint.

I started playing Caravan Stories on the PS4 a few days ago.

Pretty interesting premise with 4 (+1 hidden) races to choose from at the start (fixed classes). As you progress through the story you then reincarnate as each of the other races ultimately unlocking the last hidden one on your last reincarnation.

Combat is auto normal attacks on a field with your option of either autoing the entire fight or choosing when to use active skills yourself. You can also move any unit you select around the battlefield to kite enemies and such.

So far it seems like you get most characters through quests, but you can also capture beasts to use if you want. Shards to evolve and limit break characters though.

My first reaction to Dragalia's pre-anniversary goodies was to pout a good amount over the meager two single vouchers a day. Dug into it a bit and I've kind of reassessed my feelings. Sure, I personally would've preferred the log-in bonuses in the form of wyrmite instead of singles (essentially 240 wyrmite a day), but through endeavors we're getting a lot of dragon fruit, eldwater, mana, and crafting resources. Also double ruins galore, while I feel confident we're getting double IO for anniversary itself.

This is just the countdown bonus. For the 6-month countdown it was just 1 voucher a day. This is literally double. Plus it's just the countdown, there's going to be another bonus when it ends.

The English version of Attack on Titan Tactics released today. Seems pretty fun so far but it's DeNa so I'll stay weary until I play more. You want to roll for Annie in the tutorial summon FYI.

I stopped playing E7 but I dont remember why. It was fun when I was in the hospital for like 2 weeks with nothing to do but lie in bed all day, but not long after I was discharged I just dropped the game. I wonder what it was that made me do that? Did the game have a really competitive arena or constant patches to nerf/buff characters?

Im really liking ToE but the crashing every 10 seconds is taking a toll, and Im debating if I should go back to E7

Maybe the grind to get characters from 5* to 6* put you off? It IS quite a lot. I'm at that point now that my main team is all 50, but I'm trying not to get anxious about it. It's my side gacha and I'd like to play for the long haul and not rush things. <_> Plus I can start working on getting some better equipment at least, and more runes.

Your first 1-2 6*ing is usually the hardest one. Once you 6* a carry, farming becomes so much faster, and soon your box will just have a bunch of 5* fodders. I had like 20 at one point and basically not enough units I wanted to build.

Don't focus too hard on doing like a 1 carry/3 fodder setup either. Generally it's actually just faster to have a 2-3 men core and rest fodder team and do even faster runs. If stamina is an issue then just take things slow :P. There's no point in going so quick when there are probably gonna be improvements to the system as the game goes
