Biteforce v Tombstone, then Witch Doctor v Deathroll

The strength of vertical spinners is on display with that semifinal bracket.

Tombestone is there as well, because it's Tombstone and smashes things to bits when it isn't facing ablative armor.

Either way, it was losing the war of attrition and I think WD is in much better shape to try and take on either Bite Force or Tombstone.

Yeah, I agree with the final result. That very easily could have gone the other way if WD's drive didn't kick back in.... So damn close!

If they had given that to Death Roll due to the damage to Witch Doctor's drive, I wouldn't have argued. There's good justification for both sides, but I personally think Witch Doctor deserved the decision and they made the right choice.

There's good justification for both sides, but I personally think Witch Doctor deserved the decision and they made the right choice.

On that front I think it came down to Control. WD, aside from the drive scare, was in control, delivering hit after hit after hit, pinning Deathroll and whole bit.

But now... Witch Doctor faces Bite Force. The latter is so low to the ground I think it might able to punt Witch Doctor around the arena.

A new season hasn't been officially confirmed, but based on how the ratings have been and the "do you want to enter BattleBots" recruitment video they played during the last couple of episodes, it's probably safe to assume we'll get another one.

Paul said he was working on a new bot too, and I think the guys that did Nightmare mentioned a new design.

Still, im stunned that tombstone was one shotted like that, what in that spinning weapon of bite force?

An idea I had for next season:

What if Paul V. and his team built a brand new bot to enter the main BattleBots competition with, but kept Bite Force around as a special attraction? I say make a cool looking title belt for it, call it the "BattleBots Challenge Belt", and let teams who are brave enough just straight-up challenge Bite Force for the belt. If they win, they get to take home the belt (or defend it if they want) and the win looks great to the selection committee. If they lose, then their resume doesn't suffer much (no shame in losing to the GOAT) but they risk the repairs from that fight costing them another one later on.

Winning the BattleBots tournament would be like winning the WWE Championship, but being the one to defeat Bite Force would be like ending The Undertaker's legendary undefeated streak at Wrestlemania. It's not the main prize, but it's still a huge accolade that could create a new legend. It's certainly better than Paul bringing Bite Force back to the tournament and being inevitable again...

Well, I'm somewhat disappointed in the outcome, but that's how it goes I guess.

If they come with a new design/bot I wouldn't mind.

Overall, great episode with carnage, heartbreak, and close calls throughout. Do wish it went the other way... oh well.

After the Lock-Jaw and Tombstone fight, there just wasn't a doubt in my mind who would win the tournament. It's just on a different level.

Took me a while to watch the final because I was sad this season is over. I've been watching robot fighting since scouring TV guides for the air times of Battlebots on Comedy Central in the 80s, not to mention torrenting BBC Robot Wars shows and this year finding chinese fights. This season was probably the best, just so many amazing bots with very few potato bots to drag us down (fuck Blacksmith, what a waste). I'm glad this series came back and it's probably my favorite show on TV right now, and every time I convince friends and family to watch it with me they get hooked too because it's so great.

I don't think it's a bad thing Bite Force won again, or that they need nerfing. With the current technology, the game has changed. Having a great weapon isn't enough anymore, although it sure is entertaining. Durability is the name of the game, and Bite Force is leading the charge. How long they lead is the question, as other teams that have gotten close didn't get there because they're dumb. As we go forward, we'll see even more devastating, even more hard to kill bots battering the shit out of each other, and I goddamned can't wait to see it.
