80% of the time right now. I play Rank, but the free one, so it's not like I'm up against people using Gems to play. But they still have great decks, it's just that a lot of people seem to not understand some of the more basic concepts of Magic and I beat them because I'm simply a smart player

I searched for Mardu and Kayas, but they didn't bring up anything and I clicked to show the cards I don't own

Yeah it's MTG arena. Pretty popular among new players, and returning vets.

Really just for standard.

Brawl is getting reintroduced if you like rotating 60 card singleton formats.

Historic is coming up which will keep your rotated cards useful for. . . whatever it's gonna be. I dunno. I really just play in paper.

I still get flooded with land because of all the card draw. And yes, low creature decks get me with the Deck in the OP. But even without the draw power, this game seems to always give you land.

I would sideboard something in, but I dont play best of 3, so I cant switch them around anyways

Yep! There is one DLC thing thats with it, though. I think its $5 and gives you some good stuff to start out with

You also unlock Wild Cards which you can exchange for any card you want that is the same rarity

I'm still trying to figure out if I classify the adventures as split cards, or just creatures with an unusual activated ability.

it's a semi-important distinction for a cube, and I keep waffling on the decision.

So what are some of the cards I should be keeping my eye out for?

Red and white?

Sunglasses of Urza and conversion for all your mana needs, and hurts other players who use red.

Can never go wrong with screwing you opponent using balance, wrath of god and armageddon.

Preacher is a lot of fun, and swords to plowshares can help control what you steal.

Kismet/meekstone against those who don't see the value in weaker monsters.

And if really want to drag the game out, Sharazad is the play.

Why yes, I did stop playing after fallen empires. And yes, my decks were usually about being an asshole more than anything.

I'd consider them split cards personally

no idea what sort of new decks I want to make. I still have been wanting to try something with vannifar for forever but can't figure out the right chain of creatures to put in it. I'm also not at all amused by that stupid green goose card since they basically just rotated out llanowar elves and replaced it with a rare instead :/

Who was this set made for? Mostly Lead Designer, Mark Rosewater. It was his baby, and he was constantly trying to get everyone to agree to do a fairytale set, but people weren't buying it. But then they were starting work on a Knights of the Round Table set, and it didn't have quite enough to work on it's own. So he brought back up his favorite idea, and they managed to combine the two into a full set. So a little over half of the set is more Arthurian than it is fairy tale related, so get over it.

Whether or not you like the new set is a good test of character.
If you think it seems cool, you are someone who likes fun. If you hate it then you are anti-fun.

So yes, lots of people really like the new set. I'm probably going to go to the pre release for the first time in years because it looks so neat.

If you see that horrifyingly beautiful fucker the Gingerbrute and don't love it, you probably literally just hate fun.

Have you tried BONECRUSHER yet? (Bonecrusher Giant) I'd sub it in for the Acts of Treason. Basically a 2 mana Shock (that also stops damage prevention until EoT) that's also a 4/3 for 3 that shocks any player who targets it. Also it's a giant so it lives through the new white wrath

The card is VERY good. Seems like an auto-include in any red deck

Yeah, that card looks really good! If he gets rid of act of treason, it doesn't synergize as well with his fling though. He would need to find a replacement for that too.

I really wanted to make a deck with the Gingerbrute even though he kind of sucks, so I figured a Cavalcade deck makes the most sense. I made it green as well to add in the Lovestruck Beast, since he synergizes with all the 1/1s in the deck pretty well.



Plus a few of the new legendary mythic artifacts, if I can get the beast out, it's pretty easy to bring out, and if I can attack with a few things I can attach Embercleave to him to hit for a bunch of damage really fast. Same thing with the Spitfire flying guy, giving him doublestrike wins games instantly.

On the top right of the deckbuilder, there is a little square that is partly dark, if you click it it switches the deckbuilder layout.

not sure I'm a big fan of henge in that deck considering if you don't have beast it is essentially unplayable

I do want to play a henge deck at some point though, would probably also be green/red but more focused on creatures with power skewed particularly high for their cost

Sounds like you don't like fun.

You can be objective and act like no one wanted this set because you yourself don't like it, so I just took that back in the other direction. If you had been like, well I get that some people might like this, but it really isn't for me, then I wouldn't have pushed back like that.

Yeah that's why I only have one in there, just to try it out. I've gotten it out once so far, but I've only drawn it like twice. And I also have the split card that lets me pump for 4. But it isn't as effective, considering I will need 6 mana total after the pump to be able to get it out.

I'm down to play~! And yeah, if you play best of one it sort of cheats mana for you, at least for your starting hand. It picks the most balanced out of two hands, and only shows you the one you get.

And tonight is the pre-release for the new set, so if you go that will be most likely what is going on. It's really the best thing for casual play, I'm either going to go today or tomorrow.
