I don't gamble often but this week I will be playing some roulette. Obviously its all luck, and I normally go for individual numbers, but I'm curious as to what strategies / methods those here who play use?

Roulette is as close to fair as any gambling game can get, having ALMOST 1:1 odds.

Basically, just bet however you want - but avoid the ass bets (Top Line typically, the one with 5 numbers... it's a trap)

A good strategy is to bet the number that just landed. If the wheel is perfectly fair, this does nothing. But if the wheel is ever so slightly off-balance, then it will favour repeat values.

Every game is gonna favor the house but with roulette especially, the longer you play the greater the odds are that you are gonna lose a lot of money. So if you do get lucky and win a bit of money its best to call it quits while youre even a little bit ahead.

You can always get unlucky and lose everything but.......

If the table has a 1000 range (1-1000 bet) you can double your bets on 1 color each time and have a decent chance of walking away a winner. Realize though, that you can also lose it all.

So say you want to win 50$

First time bet 50$ on black, if you lose, second time bet $100 on black, if you win, you are up $50 and walk away.

If you lose you now need to bet $200 (you already lose $150...so $200 means you walk away with $50 again).

If you lose, you have now lost $350 so you need to bet $400 (walk away with $50 if you win).

If you lose again you need to bet $800 and that is your last bet, you either walk away with $50, or you basically lost $1500.

To make your odds a bit better (6 blacks in a row happen about 1 in 75 times, so 1.3% chance or so), don't start betting till a color has happened 3 times already, it's still the exact same chance but 9 times in a row is very rare (3 times happens fairly often).

The betting stragegy is called the martindale or something like that...and may be illegal in casino's. It btw works in other games as long as the other player doesn't know what your doing (you can use it to always end up winning at black jack etc by controlling the bet against another player for instance.

If playing someone else at blackjack, with control of the bets, you just ensure you keep betting till you come out ahead, so need a long streak of losses at BJ to actually lose money.

Betting $1 a pop to start, lose, bet $2 next time, lose Bet 4$, lose bet 8$, lose bet 16$ and finally win. In a causal game with another person you end up with all the chips that way eventually. Works with any game of chance pretty much that you have control of the betting.

This! Ive never been to a real life casino before, but I know Id be all over that roulette wheel if I went. Id do red/black bets and work my way up to bigger bets as time went on.
