of murder(title limit)

Im sure some people will remember this story. She entered what she thought was her apartment and when she saw someone inside she shot him. A lot of people were skeptical of justice given that she is a member of the police force and wasnt even arrested at the scene of the crime, they let her go home.

Edit: Just realized the title could have been worded better, she was not mistakenly found guilty, lol

Did she plead innocent or guilty?

In a lot of these cases I've seen, the police officer only goes to jail if they admit guilt.

Just imagine if she hadn't taken the stand she might have gotten manslaughter but instead she made it so the only choice the jurors had was self defense or murder. Ain't no one calling a story that insane self defense.

Killing an unarmed man in their own apartment after breaking and entering is pretty easy to convict. I'm not surprised you think a better lawyer could have got her set free.

Shut the fuck up. I'm saying for them to leave it to the jury to either be self defense or murder

Between the announcement of impeachment inquiry and now white women not being able to get away with murder, its been a rough week for some people.

I honestly couldn't imagine her being found anything but guilty given that the mistake that led to the fatal confrontation was 100% hers. Granted, I wasn't following the subsequent developments that closely.

And here I thought once the jury realized their mistake, she'd be let free >_>

That was certainly a piss-poor decision on her (and her lawyers') part. Trying to claim self-defense when trespassing is insane.

I don't understand how STG applies while illegally entering someone else's house.

It seems like it didn't hold up. But stand your ground doesn't say WHERE or WHY you're standing your ground, just that you have the right to use lethal force if you are or FEEL threatened.

It was a plausible defense that luckily didn't play out.

Ive seen it said elsewhere that the judge said the jury could consider the Castle Doctorine. Which is fucking insane. Her former police captain also attempted to get on the stand and testify about a fatigue syndrome thats not scientifically proven. But at least the judge shut that one down.

It doesnt help this bitch was sexting right up until she murdered this dude. And then admitted she didnt try as hard as she could at life saving measures.

If she could prove beyond a reasonable doubt doubt that she absolutely believed it was her home and not someone elses, it might've worked but that's a pretty big fucking hurtle to get over. I'd imagine it would take a looney tunes level of shit for that to work.
