tldr

Holiday 2020 Release!
Going to copy Switchs HD Rumble idea for the controller
Controller will be charged thru USB C
Controller will not go far from the standard DualShock design
New controller will be lighter than "Xbox One controller with batteries in it"
Adaptive triggers for L2/R2 these can "represent in-game tension and force, like drawing a bowstring or in-car acceleration"
SSD Harddrive
Ray-tracing acceleration in the GPU hardware
Still will have Blu Ray player, and physical disks
Digital gamers can now select which parts of say a Call of Duty game to install first. Install multiplayer > single > Zombies for example

It's more than this, installing is actually modular. Like you can choose not to install multiplayer if you dont care about it.

Also it should apply to physical games as well, since the only difference between the two is needing a disc in the console to start the game.

Adaptive triggers sound pretty cool. Any idea how that actually works? Like it mentions a bowstring or accelerating as an example. Does that just mean something like pressing/holding it lightly will result in a slower pull and slower acceleration while a fast press/hold will be reflected by the action being performed much faster?

I took it to mean that the developer can program how tense the button actually is, ie how much pressure you'll need to press it in.

What you're describing just sounds like pressure-sensitive controls which we've had for a long time, so that wouldn't be impressive.

We don't know! Only PS4 backwards compatibility has been confirmed, but the rest hasn't been denied and there was a patent floating around for full backwards compatibility. That said, I feel like they'd be throwing a parade and opening preorders if they had something like that up their sleeve.

Adaptive triggers sound cool without being too intrusive or hard to find use for. HD rumble, well, we know it works well enough on the Switch.

More interested in being able to play all the games that were backwards compatible with PS3/Vita/PSP (mainly PS1 games).
