Not at all.

I'm talking about their tendency to erase from existence anyone who did something reprehensible at any point in their life, regardless of context.

Fortunately none of them have any skeletons in their closet.

its not singular act, its a mindset he had his whole life.

We might as well just make it so that anyone born before 1970 is automatically removed from history.

Not everyone before 1970 was a white supremacist

Takes like this always use "anyone" to mean "white racists." There were plenty of Native Americans and black people around in John Wayne's time who recognized how wrong his views were, to say nothing of a great many white people. The students doing this will probably vote for a presidential candidate born before 1970.

Oh look it's Miss False Flag defending another racist thing.

This same "enlightened centrist" was defending Brett Kavanaugh and Scott Pruitt, corrupt pieces of shit who are clearly criminals. She loves to stand up for criminals

Brett Kavanaugh is an innocent man.

This is the kind of person you stand with Coffee. A dude who runs a racist discord and got modded for mocking black people.

We don't know that.

But conversely, every bit of evidence presented during that event was either impossible to verify by other witnesses or sometimes directly refuted by them.

Culminating with her basically saying "I don't remember where I was and it may not have been him"

That doesn't make him innocent any more than it makes him guilty.

That's a gross misinterpretation of what happened but if it allows you to justify supporting a dude who committed sexual assault, it's what you're going to do.

Because enough people who were around him during that time basically said "it wouldn't surprise me" even if they couldn't verify it.

That does say something about him.

To add to it. Is there ever a time when a statue can be removed?

so anecdotal evidence is all you got?

Just stop. That's not how we operate in this country. We run on the presumption of innocence until proven guilty in the court of law. The man is not guilty of rape because there is literally zero concrete proof of it.

1) he wasn't even accused of rape
2) there were credible witnesses who directly contradicted what Kavanaugh claimed about his time in college (particularly in regards to drinking)
3) he did lie, verifiably, during testimony in Congress. Which is illegal. We don't know if he's a sexual predator but we do know he drank like a sailor in college despite stating to Congress that he didn't.

Ive gone to sleep, but but Ive never blacked out. Thats the thats the the allegation, and that that thats wrong.

People witnessed him blacked out, fyi

He lied to Congress. It's called perjury. You may recognize that from the bullshit the GOP pulled to get Clinton on the same technicality.

I love this hypocrisy. Like 80% of this board probably blacked out drinking in College or in High School, and it doesn't make them a bad person.

Second there's literally no possible way witnesses could prove it was him that blacked out unless they had a video or something. So...

"With a lot of blacks, there's quite a bit of resentment along with their dissent, and possibly rightfully so. But we can't all of a sudden get down on our knees and turn everything over to the leadership of the blacks. I believe in white supremacy until the blacks are educated to a point of responsibility. I don't believe in giving authority and positions of leadership and judgment to irresponsible people." - John Wayne

His three wives, one of Spanish American descent and two of Hispanic descent,

Is that quote pretty horrifying? Sure. Unfortunately it was also a pretty common line of thought in the 60s. Many white people thought that inequality in education, housing, and income had made the black population unable to fit into "white society." It was stupid. But it was less about hardcore racism and more a general fear of not knowing how true equality was going to work or what it would mean. In that way, John Wayne was less of a racist and more just a man of his times.

What the hell? His shitty reasoning is full of all kinds of holes. There were plenty of educated, intelligent black people. How can you look at that and think that somehow justifies his idea of "white supremacy"? What he's saying is blatant racism

Goddamn your post is stupid
