It's an idea of continuing the child's basic education of understanding simple concepts kids to learn.

I simply told her to ignore the right circled written batch of activities and to carefully read the bottom set of instructions. She thought she had to blend both directions together and got confused.

When her face as she 'got it' lit up immediately melted my heart. Later we, sat side by side and did a few more comparisons.

I rarely visit my sister's home, but this was interesting to say the least. lol

Like this is literally a "take home and give to your parent" thing.
Kids don't do their own homework until they're around 1st grade and even then the parent is supposed to check it to make sure it's right and they understand why it's right or why it's wrong.

Like this is literally a "take home and give to your parent" thing.

This. It is clearly giving instructions to both the parent and child. It tells the parent what to say to the child, then outlines what the child is supposed to do on each problem.

Maybe it's because I have a 7-year-old and am used to this stuff, but it seems very straight-forward

The actual page seems like it's from a book that parents are meant to handle with teachers and kids only view when told to. Which makes me wonder why she was given a page from it
