The other day, some dude showed up at my house at like 9 PM to drop off a package, freaked out everyone in the house cause he was taking pictures on the front porch. My dog went apeshit and he took off. Thought it was a creep but then I see him jump in a black van, then get a notification that Amazon delivered my package complete with...a picture of my package on my front porch.

Now, I get an email from amazon saying my newest order just shipped, and when I click on it it says it will be delivered tonight by 9 PM. That would have given them 5 minutes from when the email was sent at 8:55 PM. It's like pitch black out now and I'm wonder if they're actually delivering shit later than this cause I really don't want my new hat to be sitting out all night if that's the case.

I have to assume it is because Amazon now delivers their own packages around here instead of relying on the post office, but damn man this shit is getting too fucking creepy for me.

UPS? They deliver packages really late depending on where you are on their route.

All of the deliveries are in amazon trucks now, and the tracking seems to be under their amazon delivery service.

Unless UPS just made some deal with UPS to have their Amazon branding on the trucks now or something.

Late night deliveries are common?

This seems like a bad idea out here tbqh. Shit might be okay in the city but out in the middle of nowhere this just screams for trouble.

It's been a thing for awhile now, ever since USPS got tired of dealing with their shit

Figured it would be the other way around. Anything I've ever ordered from Amazon and they use USPS had never shown up when they say it would.

Yeah UPS will deliver late at night all the time if they have to. I'm not surprised Amazon is as well. The picture thing I'm sure is just weak insurance for them so when your stuff gets stolen they can say 'but we delivered it here's the picture to prove it!'

If consumers(such as yourself) don't like getting shit at 9pm then speak up. The delivery drivers would be happy to not have to do it too.

The picture thing doesn't surprise me. I've worked in ecommerce and I'm very familiar with people lying about non receipt of merchandise.

Well now it says it's not coming until tomorrow, so I guess they're not going to deliver it later than 9pm which is fine.

I mean, the picture thing doesn't really bother me outside the fact that it spooked my dog and everyone in my house lol.

Ever since the Amazon vans showed up around here they deliver super late and take pics. Most things are delivered in one day instead of two now :D
