Vastly. But still nowhere as mad as book readers.

Can another channel buy the rights to air that show if the pilot already exists?

Why would book readers be anymore mad at seasons 6-8? They're all filler and some of s5 too if I'm not mistaken. It's not like they poorly adapted the source material.

Because they've been waiting for a conclusion to this story for over two decades and all they got was filler that spoils the ending in the most rushed, lackluster way possible.

Nah, most of us stopped caring a decade ago, because we realized he's never going to finish it.

Given their writing on GoT, I'm not expecting much tbh. They seemed to have done well with adapting source material, but shit the bed when it came time to do any actual writing. So, if they're adapting something into a show for Netflix, there might be hope, but if they're doing something original, I've got no hope.

The solution there is to go looting through a library to find another book series they can adapt.

But Netflix has been hurt so badly by rights issues and people "owning" IP taking it and leaving their platform, so they have a vested interest in seeing new property being developed for them and them alone (that they can keep forever), they might be hesitant about just adapting yet another book series. They might want only original ideas - and that might bite them in this case.

Yeah, that's why they've been pushing their originals so much. I think Orange is the New Black has been their most successful adaptation, but that's mostly original afaik, since the book isn't that long iirc.

House of Cards did very well for them though it had a pretty lackluster final season. They also like originals because they can put the content up on their site forever, people get pissy when Netflix loses shows like Friends and Seinfeld but a show like Stranger Things will be available to watch on Netflix forever.

not surprised and glad both got cancelled. to be honest they are like the fast n furious movies just let them die its over done no need to keep adding to it. terminator is very very close to the same category though they havent shown the future war and john winning it but once that movie is done then add them to the list of no more or wait heaps long for spin offs

Nah not a new one they had 2 prequels they were planning one takes place roughly 300 years before Game of Thrones the other takes place a couple thousand years before. They canceled the show that takes places thousands of years before Game of Thrones.

Considering that Benioff was the one who came up with "mouthless Deadpool", you're right not to hope. ^_^

I know he wrote the screenplay but Im pretty sure the shit deadpool we got in that flick came from executives deciding that Ryan Reynolds was charismatic/funny to the point where it was too distracting from Hugh Jackmans role

Theres a lot of stupid shit in that movie, but its actually a pretty good screenplay before they fucked it up with a bunch of awful special effects and moronic production decisions
