Externally, I think Ive been carrying myself well, but Im just so... meh about shit I used to love.

Is Always Sunny a boring show now? Or am I just incapable of loving it like I did back when I was 19? It seems like even the older episodes just dont do it for me anymore. Have I just grown past it?

I replayed Vesperia on Switch, and believe me, I played THE SHIT out of it back in high school, over 800 hours. And now I still cant finish the extra post-game content.

Same with Star Ocean 4. Is it just a bad game... yeah, probably. But maybe itd be a 3/10 and not a 1/10 if I werent the way Ive become.

Old and exciting!!

...

Yeah, the two don't really go together very well. If you want excitement, you'll likely have to get into something new, probably with spoiling yourself as little as possible. You'll have to risk failure for a chance at success with that.

Fairly common as you get older, although it does not affect everyone.

One solution is to mentor younger people/kids, as they will still have the excitement and it can be
contagious. It even works for video games, by yourself your like meh, but you can enjoy a video
game way more if you play with someone who loves it and sees it through different eyes.

I don't know how old you are, or how long you have played games, but it doesn't sound like you have
gone that far off the "enjoy games" rails yet though. Eventually you may get to a stage where you barely
ever actually finish games, and where games that you have been waiting for decades, are boring
enough you stop halfway through (looking at you Kingdom Hearts 3).

Sometimes you can find things that just recapture your joy/enthusiasm though, so don't give up, and
seriously think about being a mentor/big brother, watching nephews or nieces etc, as that can really
bring back some of the joy from when you were younger.

I actually watch my niece a few days out of the week and most of the time, after a few hours, I just cant wait to push her back to her mom >_>

It can also be seriously grating and draining, though. Different personality types tend to respond to that sort of thing in different ways.

Personally, I tend to think the dynamic for that lies somewhere on the introvert/extrovert social axis, but that's pretty much pure guesswork.
