I didn't see Solo, but Genysis was straight up horrible. Can't really judge her on that, because even some of the best actors and actresses can seem really bad if the script and/or the director is horrible.

I thought she was ok in Solo, but not very good in Genysis. She was a bit of a mixed bag in Game of Thrones, but was generally really good when giving her big over the top speeches. She can probably be pretty good with the right material.

She's definitely solid in GoT

I haven't seen Game of Thrones but I think she was at least decent in Solo and in Genysis.

Genysis bombed because the Terminator franchise hasn't been good since 2, and Solo bombed because it was following up the boring Rogue One and the completely shitty Last Jedi.

She had nothing to do with it.

I haven't seen either, but I put more of the blame on the creators for those films. Otherwise you're both asking two different things (ie, whether she's a good actress vs whether she has a strong box office performance) and questioning her based on the success of those properties while overlooking that she has a larger presence in a wildly successful tv show.

Otherwise she might have been the female lead in Solo, but she took a backseat to the titular Han Solo and afaik was a newly created character so she wasn't really in a position to draw (Glover, who played Lando, was in a bigger position). In general, Solo definitely under-performed, though.

For Genysis, I guess she played Sarah Connor which is a notable role but it's an established franchise where Arnold is the biggest name. Gen did $440m at the box office -- which is an alright number -- vs a $158m budget so... not sure the issue. Especially since it followed Salvation which only did $371m on a $200m budget so, if anything, it likely outperformed expectations.

As for the question of whether she's talented, she's a reasonable actress. I'm not a huge fan, but part of that is just because I prefer the Westeros storylines and didn't really care about what happened north of the wall or across the Narrow Sea.

I feel like she's a mostly mediocre actress who only really gets cast because she gets the Game of Thrones rub (see also Sophie Turner), but I suppose it's possible that she's actually a great actress but for various reasons has only ever chosen jobs that don't allow her to actually demonstrate it (see also Will Smith 97% of the time).

I can honestly say her being in something has never made me even slightly more interested in watching it, though.
