About 25 years ago, a former friend and I (plus 2 more) took over $100 worth of stuff from a gas station. He was mad he got fired for something he didn't do and they were refusing to give him his last paycheck. He thought this would be a way of getting revenge and getting paid

I accidentally stole some candy from a gas station once. Some of us went into the store to pick out something, and when I picked mine out I had to run back to the car for some reason. When I did I was told to stay in the car, and only after we left did I realize that I was holding the candy in my hand the entire time.

I got busted for stealing at my first job, a stocker at a grocery store, when i was 19.

I stole a lot of shit there because the job sucked and i felt like being an ass. obviously nothing would justify my stealing but thats why I did it.

I stole a candy bar, went into the bathroom to eat it, undercover customer guy called me out on it and I admitted to it, and got fired. I was supposed to pay a $170 fine to some sort of PI company or whatever, which I never did because at first I didnt care. They sent a follow up letter 6+ months later, when I didnt have any money and I still ignored it and never got brought up again.

So yeah, in short, undercover customer guy, the candy bar WAS delicious. And I hated my job so I didnt care.

However the upside of it all is I have not stolen(outside of digital stuff) anything since and I never will again.

A friend and I were throwing snacks into another friends purse when she was paying attention much. She thought we were just throwing stuff at her. When we got back to the car, we started taking the stuff out her purse. She was surprised. I think she ended up taking some money back, maybe...

I was 7 years old. I stole $20 from the lady that taught the kids class at our church. I saw where she kept her purse, noticed that she always left it there after class when everyone headed to the big room. After a few days of this I went over to the window and unlocked it. Then when we were all in the big room I excused myself to use the bathroom. Instead, I went outside, around the building and behind the shrubs that were all down the side, blocking anyone's view of the windows there. Climbed in, stole the money, climbed back out and hid it under a rock just in case I got accused. I did end up being accused. I was able to show my mom that I didn't have the money so it couldn't have been me. Afterwards I went and retrieved the money. This would have been back in 1984.

I stole lots of stuff. So much. Most of it wasn't memorable though. There was another time that I stole a large chocolate bar from the grocery store when I was a kid. Not much older than when I stole the money at church. I didn't know what bakers chocolate was. I just saw an extra large bar of Hershey's chocolate and wanted it. Candy bars didnt6typocally come this big. The size is probably what tempted me to actually do it as stealing g from the grocery store wasn't something I usually did. I was proud of getting away with it right under my mother's nose. But super disappointed when I got ot home and tried to eat it. I ended up getting caught anyway. Got in trouble for stealing it and didn't even get to enjoy eating it. Mom made me go back to the store and apologize.

I just thought of another thing. But I'm in bed.and quote sleepy. Maybe I'll remember to post it tomorrow.

I found ways to feed me and my brother when we were young without stealing even if we would only eat 1 meal a day most of the time (often school lunches).

Sometime before I was 11 (I probably was 9) as my brother was put into the system when I was 11, I did steal cheese from a convienent store in San Franscico. It was the only time I stole food, and I don't remember the circumstances why (there were trees with walnuts in them, school lunches, we went to camp mendicino during the summer (and worked there so we could stay the whole time etc) but for some
reason we were very hungry and I didn't/couldn't figure out another way to get food. Also, I think I was
just plain acting strange or not like I normally do at the time (no clue why).

Anyway, I stole a block of cheese from the store and put it down my pants. The store owner confronted us, and I grabbed my crotch (where the cheese was) and said "You want to see my Cheese? You want to see my cheese?). I seriously did that...and honestly that was not like me at all. Anyway this embarresed him and he let us go.

Too long ago to remember why that happened, but it was crazy/strange enough that even after all these years (40 or so), I still remember it fairly clearly.

As a side note, I admitted to it when joining the Air Force, as they asked if I had ever stolen anything. I replied honestly and it turns out that you can actually get in trouble for admitting to crimes like that. I guess they decided that since I was 9 at the time (and 17 currently) it didn't matter, but the person asking the question probably thought I was crazy for actually answering it lol.

Uh, a ton of things, I don't remember it all.

PS1 and PS2 memory cards, pens/markers/pencils, batteries, magazines, books
I stole money from a family member once and it's the only thing I ever felt bad about stealing.
I got caught at a store and had to do community service at a church. I stole a 24-pack of Pepsi from the church.

Once when I was like 10, I stole some batteries with my cousins for my walkman. I felt pretty bad for it afterwards. Other than that, unintentionally taking pens after filling out forms, I guess.

Ok. I'm awake now.

I was 9. So it would have been 1986. Not sure how, but I was aware of what marijuana was at that age. This was long before it was everywhere. Before everyone wore clothing with pot leaves all over it. But I recognized it growing over the fence of my best friend's house. There was an older boy living next door to me. I told him about it. He had me spend the night at his house that night. We snuck out, got one of his friends and rode our bikes down to the pot house. We broke the back gate open, each pulled up a plant and rode off down the street carrying these great big pot plants. I was 9 years old, riding down the street on my bike at like 2 am with a pot plant that was probably a good 7 feet tall.

The only thing I ever stole was a love letter one of my friends got but refused to share it with the group. He kept it in his jacket pocket for hours and I had another of my friends distract him with some random conversation while I swiped it from him. The rest of us all read it as a group and then I slipped it back into his pocket. He kinda felt that part and checked his pocket because he thought I was trying to take it, not realizing that he had been missing it the whole time he was talking.

I was a regular klepto as a kid.

Tabletop RPG books, dice, video games, CDs, money from the register at Montgomery wards when I worked there. Magic Cards, candy bars. Im sure theres more. Always minor shit.

Wards would pay for my lunches at Arbys. Or a break at the arcade next door.

I stopped when I got old enough for the habit to effect me if I got caught.

Some of that was expensive. Like TTRPG books and video games...

The books were generally $20ish or cheaper. Games up to $50.

I said minor stuff, and in the realm of larceny it was. Heh.

True. And things were probably a little cheap back then. Books can be insanely expensive these days...
