I've ignored ones I didn't care to do, only to have to wait forever to get more to show up. But whenever I go in a circuit and finish all of them, a new wave starts over immediately. Each new area I enter and feel like I'm not overleveled anymore, but by the time of the next gym battle I'm already ahead again, even without fighting many wild Pokemon. The level curve is definitely fucked in this game, I'm outright avoiding trying to catch Pokemon besides ones I really like or might want to use because it's the only way to not overlevel even harder.
