I also got a Charmeleon raid. I guess I knew that would be a thing, but I wasn't expecting to get one so early in the game. I was maybe more expecting that line to only come from 5* or something to be more special.

Received a Lv. 60 Sneasel from someone in Japan (Surprise Trade)... I trade a few pokemon I see that are shiny and just hope for the best with these trades but every single one I've gotten I've released because they were garbage. I got lucky tonight.

OK, I narrowed down the team but I'm looking for a little advice:

Rillaboom OR Cinderace
Barraskewda
Toxtricity (Amped Form)
Grimmsnarl
Sirfetch'd

Then one of:
Stonjourner
Copperajah
Darmanitan-G (Zen Mode)

Currently leaning THEMAN because It would also allow me to pick Rillaboom (I can't have a team without a Fire type).

So:
How early can you attain these Pokemon (or their pre-evolutions)? Previously my rule was to only use Pokemon you can catch before the 5th badge. I know that doesn't really apply with SwSh because it doesn't have the traditional Pokemon structure, but any rough estimates?
Anyone using them? Are they fun?

Also just for the record, and whether I pick him or not: Cinderace's hidden ability being "Libero" is a cool, deep cut that I did not expect Pokemon to make, so hats off to them for that.

of those three, Cufants the only one youre likely to find before the fifth gym. Theoretically you could luck into a raid with the other two, but otherwise I think theyre around the seventh gym.

Rillaboom OR Cinderace
Barraskewda - Before first gym if you're patient with fishing (5% chance on Route 2, otherwise in the 2nd gym city)
Toxtricity (Amped Form) - Before second gym
Grimmsnarl - Before third gym
Sirfetch'd - Before second gym

Then one of:
Stonjourner - Late game
Copperajah - Possibly before 3rd gym, more likely before 4th gym
Darmanitan-G (Zen Mode) - Around the 6th or 7th gym I think?

But if you stay connected online and keep your eyes peeled for raids, you can potentially get any of them at any time (except Stonjourner, who I believe is only in 5* raids)

Centiskorch can be technically be caught before the first gym, but it's really rare. There's a guaranteed encounter before the third badge though. Or again raids.

Apparently the Sizzlipede encounter rate skyrockets if you have a Flash Fire Pokemon at the front of your party (like the Vulpix found on the same route).

Do what I did and don't. You can use EXP candies to ensure you can have a wide variety of Pokemon at reasonable levels
