Yes, i understand the why the unlimited wishes isnt a thing
But wishing for one more wish youre netting 0 wishes.
+1 from the wish, but -1 using a wish to get the wish
If I was a genie i would do it just to humor the person making the wish.

I can think of different ways. Genies are all contract. It artificially extends it, potentially takes magic power even if it does "nothing"

Aint they just giving you a wish as gratitude, not that they're actually bound to give you a wish. So if you wanted unlimited wishes they'd be like "I was just trying be a bro man, so fuck y'all and die!"

in the original story of aladdin it never limited wishes to just 3 it was until the "owner" of the lamp lost it or died etc.

Because it would potentially create an infinite loop and genies have shit to do.

Just because you have a wish doesn't mean it will be granted, so if you ask a genie for 1 more wish, or even unlimited wishes, he could just grant you TONS of things you really want.....like....teleport you into the middle of the ocean so you REALLY wish you had a boat, or the desert so you really wish you had water etc.

You're overthinking what is meant to be a throwaway line to explain why the lamp owner can't become god.

That said, obviously Aladdin in the movie was extremely wasteful and stupid with his wishes.

Genie wishes aren't meant to screw with you though, it's different. They're supposed to be wishes that outside of the base conditions of the wish itself, are meant to be as helpful to the wisher as possible.

I think it all depends on the genie. If you are greedy or selfish, the genie might give you what you ask for but not in the way you expected it, like if you ask for immortality you get turned into stone or something.
