I mean, come on. Just awesome. I actually feel like it was easier for them though. VC, SA, VCS, all set in the past. 80s and 90s. They already know what was a hit and what people like. They had decades of music at their fingertips and history already wrote what defined the eras. But IV and V were contemporary games. So that is almost impossible to stack with guaranteed gold.

... But there were only 2 rap/hip hop stations. The game had a station for everyone. The classic rock list was solid. The grunge and 90s rock list was solid. A couple good funk and oldies stations.

I think later era games are just a reflection on how much musical taste there is to capture, and the fact satellite radio gives you anything to listen to. Maybe in 10 years things will change, but imo I don't see this era/decade as one that can carry a musical aesthetic.
