Both do fine in the roles. The problem is the characters themselves are poorly written.

Daisy is quite good. John Boyega is not bad but kind of wasted because the part is skimpy

Ridley is a good actress but they wrote Rey to be boring and unlikable. Her acting is ok but the material she has doesnt do anything for me.

Boyega overacts and screams his lines like hes always out of breath and it gets annoying after a while.

Neither had much time to shine as actors. The characters arent developed enough.

I guess Id pick Rey since Finn was part of the worst subplot in TLJ.
