Although card games might be interesting with that Magic: the Gathering Netflix series coming soon. With the gaming community being the way it is if you don't get a screenwriter and director who actually enjoy games or are gamers themselves video game movies will almost always be bad.
I don't expect a 100% accurate recreation of the game into film but if you stray really far from the source material then what is really the point? ... Copied to Clipboard!

No, it won't. It's never gone well, nor will it. If you can write a story that works for movies/TV, then you'll do that. Video game stories almost always exist purely to move the gameplay forward, and in the rare instances where they're actually good, it's because they were lifted from a book or something that came first.
