3 Arizona Mountain Lions were found EATING a DEAD human body near a popular hiking trail..and they KILLED the animals even though they DIDN'T kill the victim!!

Human Remains were found at Pima Canyon Trail as Officials said the 3 lions aren't believed to have killed the victim as the body was already in the vicinity before the lions found it and started eating the body.

They lions were killed after human remains were found in their droppings as Game and Fish said "Rarely scavengers, such abnormal behaviour made them more likely to attack humans in the future. The big cats showed no fear to responding officers"

They said relocating the cats were not an option who said moving a mountain lion in this part of the world would just put it into another lion's territory as they are territorial and fight to death over a piece of land.

An autopsy will be done on how the victim died.

One of the lions was an adult female and the 2 younger lions were less than a 100 pounds

Do you support massacring these mountain lions because they ate a dead human?

A mountain lion is super dangerous, period. It's their habitat. If a human ventures into it, s/he would do well to be very careful and keep a distance.

I don't like it, but that's the fact of the matter. Such predators are always dangerous, but to that typical extent the threat is within tolerance. Having fed on human remains only once, even without having killed or injured a living person, those animals that have used humans as food are more likely to do so again, whether the next human prey is already dead or not, and that pushes it beyond the threshold that can be tolerated.

Better to eliminate the high risk threats before people start dying, otherwise there'll be more outrage, more call for thinning the animals' numbers. It's not pretty, but sometimes saving the most lives, on both sides, requires some sacrifice.
