+If Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors could make the 2015 contest, it seems extremely likely to make this one too.

-I kinda suspect we're not gonna see Mega Man 11. People liked it alright but it made zero waves and a merely decently well-received entry in a long-running franchise doesn't strike me as likely to excite nominators.
-The Witcher III has so totally blown away the first two games that I'd be a little surprised to see Witcher II.
-The number of people who have rated Baba is You on gamefaqs is in the double digits.

Most of this looks good. However, there are some things I'd change, based on the latest revision, and assuming 128 entrants:

• Outer Wilds and The Outer Worlds are not in fact the same game, if you didn't know that. The former is an indie that hasn't really penetrated here, bombing in the GotY polls and seeing minimal B8 nomination support so far. The latter is a Fallout-like open-world WRPG (from New Vegas developer Obsidian) that fared decently in the GotY polls it was in and should see a decent amount of off-B8 nominations thanks to recency bias.
• Indies in general are not going to have as easy a time getting into this bracket as you think; 10 nominations instead of 15 or 20 helps them, but GameFAQs at large doesn't care about most of them, and their Metascores/GameFAQs popularity data aren't strong enough to really compensate for the nominations shortfall. Some other indies I wouldn't expect to see in the bracket: Ori, Stanley Parable, Obra Dinn, Witness, NecroDancer, FTL, Hotline (even has zero B8 noms so far), VVVVVV, VA-11 Hall-A (looks totally out of place even compared to these other indies), and Terraria (even though I included it in my mock bracket, but I'm biased towards it). A few of those being on your list is fine, but most of them shouldn't be.
• GameFAQs loves its JRPGs and loves the Xenoblade series in particular from a nominations perspective, so I'd hardly be surprised if Xenoblade X (which also looked relatively good in GotY 2015) makes the bracket alongside the other two. Xenoblade X even has a better average GameFAQs rating than Xenoblade 2, for what it's worth. Similar thing goes for Fire Emblem Fates, which has its fair share of dedicated fans.
• Likewise, GameFAQs loves Soulsbornes, at least those who play new games; Nioh in particular should have somewhat of an independent fanbase and has a notably better average rating than Sekiro, though recency bias won't work in its favor comparatively. We might also see Dark Souls II along those same lines, even though 10 noms disadvantages it.
• Mortal Kombat X isn't making the field, especially not over the series revitalizer MK9. Likewise, Return to Dream Land is more of a traditional Kirby game, and should have greater GameFAQs-wide support alongside its B8 advantage compared to Epic Yarn. Also along the same lines, 3D World might not have been a huge hit here, but it definitely penetrated further into GameFAQs's collective memory than NSMBU (Deluxe).
• How/why did you omit Tomb Raider entirely? There's a reason Lara scored such high seeds and fared so well in both 2013 and 2018. Obviously, characters don't equal games, but we're not going to see Lara as a 4-seed in 2018's unrestricted field turn into Tomb Raider failing to even make a much more restricted field.
• Dragon Age: Inquisition was 2014's only big open world WRPG, fared well in GotY, and retains somewhat of a fanbase to this day. The crowd on GameFAQs at-large that favors these types of games should give it enough support to make the field. Speaking of dragons, don't sleep on Dragon's Dogma's surprising fanbase, for a game that's likewise pretty close to GameFAQs's wheelhouse.
• Finally, and this reaches into nitpicky territory, Sun/Moon have a good chance of making the field, and I'd like to see them in there so they can (fail to) validate their 2016 GotY results. That also allows us to notch every Pokmon generation in at least one contest's field.

Judging by Board 8's Top 100 games of the decade project where not a single one of them received more than one nomination, I'm unconvinced any SMT game will make it into the contest. That votes for IV would be potentially split between the base game and Apocalypse doesn't make it any better.
