Fred Williamson, the guy RDJ was spoofing, said he was okay with the role.

Not that that necessarily makes blackface right. There isn't really a good situation in which a white guy can dawn makeup to play a black guy. But I do want to point out for the record that the athlete-turned-actor the performance was modeled after was not upset.

RDJ didnt do blackface. His character in the movie did blackface. Christian Bale didnt murder a bunch of people in New York in the 80s.

This isn't black face to begin with. Difference between the shoe polish minstrel shows and what this was. Like people said as well, movies have show horrific rape or murder enacted so it is ridiculous to say playing a character who seriously is playing the role of a black character is too far.
