Just learned today that Ride Your Wave is playing at a nearby theater tonight. Did anyone watch this and was it any good? Not sure if it's worth leaving work early in order to watch it.

Ended up going to see this and it was pretty solid. The movie does have sort of an allegorical gimmick that I was never entirely sold on, but the base story and characters are very good imo.

Always going to be baffling to even myself as to why I don't like that show.

I actually finished Violet Evergarden fairly recently. Did not expect it to be such a feel good show, but I do agree that the episodes that focused more on Violet's backstory are kinda weaker.

There are brand new characters in it, and it'd be sort of weird having a recap on something so episodic.

Unless you're thinking of the other Violet Evergarden movie which hasn't even been shown in Japan yet, because the whole KyoAni fire pushed it back.

I don't see how it continues normally either way. Don't think it's out yet officially, but saw a phone photograph of the RAW's last page for the next chapter and Nezuko was starting to turn human again. If it doesn't end, I'm thinking major time skip, either aged up or with a new generation.

I always assumed it would just merge back into the mainline manga since they should both be covering the same game. Although, I haven't kept up with the mainline manga since I've been trying to follow the anime for that so maybe I'm completely off.

Roughly ten years ago, during meetings with the anime staff, we talked about how it would be nice to draw the final match from the point of view of both Kiyosumi and Achiga. But since my progress with the main story is rather slow and the final was still far, it could not be implemented until now.

The spoken lines and story development will be almost the same as in the main story but the draft, the panel layout, the production,... it will feel completely different. There will be some additional scenes exclusive to Achiga-hen and some others exclusive to the main story.

In/Spectre being on this list is surprising, guess they were heavily involved in that. Guess that explain why Brains Base suddenly had a budget for the first time in a decade.

This is a mixture of shows from several different international companies, too. Tower of God got announced a few weeks ago and people seemed pretty excited. Manhwa getting adapted opens a lot of doors in the future for stuff that never had a chance. Will sell a kidney for a "SQ: Begins With Your Name!" anime.

I'll be very interested to see how these turn out. Regardless on where you fall on the Netflix stuff, it's hard to deny that, other than the first few, almost all of their ACTUAL Netflix original releases that weren't just delaycast have been...not great at best for a while now. In fact, many of them have been straight up hilariously awful.

Anyone have any tablet recommendations for reading manga (mainly on the SJ app).

I've never owned a tablet before and I hate the SJ website, but the phone app is good and I imagine a tablet would just be a bigger version of that app that's easier on the eyes.
