Playing through Soul Silver in the Kanto section Was really fun, but it took a total of 2 hours to do it all. I remembered it taking a long time back in the day. As you all know, I only have red version And platinum under my belt. . Though, I don't remember much of platinum, Now I can say his soul silver . But anyways, I went on a trip today and I had to wait for 3 hours So I took my DS Lite with me and played this.

I'm going to do things a little differently though, I'm going to use Pokemon I haven't used before.

I picked Squirtle, but I went ahead and put him in the PC. I'm ignoring scrubs like Rattata and Pidgey for now But it's the damnedest thing, instead of Nidarans to the West, I found a damn Mankey. My third encounter in the Viridian Forest was a Pikachu. So I really lucked out there. . I currently have a Butterfree on my team as well. I was thinking about getting a Paras. Also, I have a Spearow. Apparently it's pretty late, but I think I want a Slowbro on my team, too. Right now I already beat Brock and I'm making it through Mountain Moon. I'm thinking about bringing Zubat with me. But I don't know about that yet. .

On my old game I would always have Blastoise, Gyarados, and even though he's a little late, Zapdos. I would use the Cinnabar Island trick to get a Tauros from the Safari Zone. Late game as well. I think I would have a vileplume as my plant for cutting crap Nidoking would also be my boy. I can't remember who else I would use. But I'm excited to shake things up a little.

Man, Mountain moon is a lot longer than I remembered. They definitely neutered it in Soul Silver.

I gave Paras the TM bullet seed. Nothing, like watching it spit a few watermelon seeds and killing things like onyxes with relative ease

Well, I did need an impromptu grass attack., I hate attacks like bullet seed and fury attack. They always hit twice and never do a lot of damage.

I completely forgot, Amnesia only raises special defense now, not special attack. Well, special period in Generation 1

I personally prefer Sandslash over Dugtrio.

Ninetales is a good Fire type choice for LG, but I don't remember when you get a Fire Stone.

Crobat is available in this game and redeems the legions of Zubats IMO.

Espeon and Umbreon are fun.

Tyranitar is a beast.

Leaf Green has a decent selection overall.

You've got the 150 minus version exclusives and then a bunch of Gen 2 guys.

You can't get Umbreon until you beat the game. FRLG locks you out of Gen 2 evolutions until you get the NatDex

Mega Punch was a TM in Gen 1. This game reuses Ruby and Sapphire's TM list for compatibility purposes, so they stuck a bunch of NPCs around that teach moves that were TMs in Gen 1.

You can buy all of the stones except Moon and Sun stones at Celadon Department Store. For some reason this is the last time a shop sells them all at once until Gen 6. I used to buy stones here and transfer them up to Gen 4 because it was way more convenient.

So I went ahead and help bill out and got him all human again. This is such a crazy thing that happened that no one ever talks about again. People can literally become Pokemon and separate from them. And I wonder what happened to the Pokemon he combined with. Is it just rotting in one of those pods?

I don't know what it is but I feel like all of my Pokemon have really weak defense. They just can't take a hit. I beat Misty, my parents took out Staryu, and Pikachu got one hit KO dead by star Me. By some miracle of God Paris took out stormy

Have you seen Detective Pikachu Pun?

Sandshrew has really good physical defense, but that's not going to help you against Misty. Paras has decent defenses, but the rest of your team is a bunch of fast, fragile things.

Mankeye was a completely crazy and random addition. That one had no planning whatsoever because I just ran into him. I'm not quite sure if I should keep him though. With that said, I have no real answer to Steel type, but then again that's not very common in this generation or region. Having something against the common normal type is pretty good though. I suppose I also don't have an actual answer to ice type either. I've been thinking about it because I've been thinking about Persian. But then again I don't know what Persians role would be on my team

Spiro Is rather important because I don't have a fire type nor am I planning to get one. So I need an anti plant Pokemon Butterfree will eventually be replaced by Slowbro. If I recall correctly, Persian can learn Thunderbolt. But it loses out on the same attack bonus Pikachu has. That might be my in right there

Pika learns Thunderbolt naturally though, iirc.

Porygon is a good special attacker ;) In LG it also only costs 6500 coins or something instead of 9999!

I like Dugtrio AND Sandslash. I think Dugtrio hits a little harder and Sandslash is a bit sturdier.

I'm also convinced that your gender increases your chance of finding same-gendered Pokmon, but I have no facts to support this theory, it's just a feeling.

You have an answer to Steel and Ice types. Mankey. Fighting is good against both Steel and Ice. Primeape has some pretty good stats too.
