I think it had a very limited screening in theaters, and then people who might have been interested just forgot about it. I knew it was coming, but I only lucked out finding a way to watch it (small local theater near me decided to show it).
It was actually pretty damn good, I liked the fan service and the self-awareness it had. I didn't feel like it tarnished the original at all, it was pretty funny and enjoyable in its own right. It was enjoyable. Definitely had some funny moments and good throwbacks. Not the best movie ever but if youre a fan youll like it.
