That's right, at long last, Save That Video Game Character has returned. Let's get this shit rolling.

Nomination rules:

• You have up to 7 nominations you can use. You can either use them to nominate 7 different characters, or use multiple nominations on a smaller amount of characters, increasing their chances of making it into the main competition.
• Nominated characters must have originated from video games. For example, even though Luke Skywalker is in the Jedi Knight games, he would not be eligible since he was popularized from films first. Kyle Katarn's first appearance ever was in the Jedi Knight games though, so he is eligible.
• Please say what game the character you're nominating is from. If I can't confirm a character and the game they're from, they wont make it in.

100 characters will make it into the main competition. If we get over 100 nominations, we will have either have a second round of nominations to narrow down the field, or if we're only a few characters over the limit, they will be decided through a randomizer.

The top 10 from the last competition are automatically locked in and don't need to be nominated, giving them a chance to fight to keep their standings. This leaves 90 slots left open for potential newcomers.

I don't think we've done the originated from videogames thing before because I remember Witcher characters being in this (Geralt, Triss, Yennefer) & all of them originated from books first.

Need to clarify on that because I'd likely vote for at least one of them.

We did, but I let Witcher be an exception, because at least at the time the video games were more popular than the books. With the TV show now IDK if that's still the case, I'll let them be grandfathered in since Witcher characters were in both of the first 2 competitions.

That rule is mainly there to prevent people from being like "Oh, there's a Terminator video game that came out at one point, I'm gonna nominate The Terminator!" and kinda derailing the focus of the whole thing.

Yes, they debuted in Magia Record and didn't appear in the original Madoka Magica anime beforehand.

Yeah, I figure that's the case for the majority of people too.

Like, if there's a huge outcry I'll bar them because they definitely don't fit the "originate from games" rule and are an exception, but the games have carved out such a huge following in the gaming community that it also seems like a disservice to not allow them, and I haven't even played the games myself.
