Most of the infected in my city work within a 5 mile radius of me, and my co-workers daughter treated one of them. That said, I have an insanely powerful immune system, so I will probably not get it for a while.

Plus more times then not I am one of the people who gets the cold/flu in the middle of August, so that is probably when I will get it.

My nearest neighbors are over five hundred feet or more away. I hate going anywhere except for essential shopping trips. If I get it, itll be because someone brought it to my house.

Now that I am pretty much stuck at home, I may not get it.

Me getting the Coronavirus is just doing me a favor. At least I will be home with mom and my bird Skeeter.

I'm hoping I won't, because I might actually die if I do.

That said, my daily life is already 80% isolated, with only caregivers in regular contact, so that may help. I live in an apartment building, and between that and my home-care I can't cut myself off entirely, especially with my dog still needing to be walked (she's well-trained, and will not do her business on the balcony!), but I'm doing my best.

A young woman from my local mutual aid group has been coming round to take Pixie for walks (she always stays at least 2 metres away from me, as proscribed) and bring me groceries since the online delivery services are overwhelmed (I couldn't get a delivery slot for 10 days, & in some areas it's as much as 14), & I'm being careful to wipe down the pup's leash and collar and my new shopping, just in case, & my hands regularly, & I've been trying not to touch my face too much (I wear glasses, so it's impossible to not touch my face at all).

If I'm lucky, and my caregivers are cautious, it may be months before I catch it. I just hope I can make it through when I do. 3 of my relatives have died of pneumonia, the last just last November.

Just saw a post on facebook about how many people are unable to get tested because of a lack of tests. It is really sad, almost made me cry seeing the people who are in ICU on day 10 and can't get tested, the eldery who are sick, a baby who has had a fever and cough for 3 days etc.

It definately looks like there is a serious shortage of tests, including in NY, alot of the people were from NY so I guess they don't have enough tests to actually test everyone, even there, which means the numbers are probably way off.

I'm glad I stayed home and hopefully avoided getting this, and I don't want to blame anyone, but this is not being handled well, it's not being handled well at all. A week ago our goverment was laughing this off as nothing (or the president was at least), and maybe it's like he said, China's fault for not letting us know in advance, but....I'm really worried about alot of people right now, this is not good at all.

I'm thinking the numbers are waaaay off, and more people had it in China then we were told (that was probably just the people tested that had it).

Just from the way things are going.

Meanwhiie while the number of those who need hospital care.....seem to be about 13%, most of those are older or have conditions that exasperate it (or were previous/current smokers etc).

So if your not old, don't have anything wrong with you and don't smoke, even if you get it, it's probably (more than likely) not going to hit you that hard. There are exceptions of course, but your fairly safe.

Man, this is crazy, but I have been fighting an urge all morning to just get in my car and drive somewhere. I wouldn't even go in, but just drive to be out. It doesn't make sense of course, it's dumb to do it, but I think I'm going stir crazy here. I went out briefly to shop on Friday morning, but that is it in the last week and I have no company here at all, it's only me.

I did zoom DnD and have talked to friends etc, but I really would love to have someone to hang out with at this point. I didn't really feel like dating since my wife passed, but man, now I wish I had:(

I was sick a week or so ago. It didn't last long and was a bit different from usual head colds I'll get every now and then. I spent as much free time in bed as I could, and got over it quickly. If I'm lucky, that was it, and I've got immunity now. If not, I'm sure to get it eventually.

At this point, there are more confirmed cases in my county than anywhere else in the US other than NYC, so I'm probably fucked.

My main saving grace is that my circumstances allow me to self-quarantine for long stretches at a time, and I can afford the economic hit, but I still need to go out every couple of weeks to buy food/supplies, so I can't completely isolate. If I'm lucky I don't wind up catching it while shopping.

The other customers may be others like you, self-quarantining as much as possible, regular odds of being infected. The workers though, rather than once every week or three or whatever, are out there every working day, and are thus many more times as likely to have come into contact with an infected customer, and thus be carrying the infection themselves.

The general public are already in consensus that retail and service workers are lower class vermin no need to rub it in.

This is mainly why I feel like people who are like "Well, I'll just stay home and order everything delivered" are setting themselves up for trouble, because no one seems to think about the fact that you're interacting with delivery people, who themselves are interacting with tons of other people.

Sure, it's generally short contact, but you're still upping your odds of having a problem.

I'm pretty certain my wife and I had it in February. Either that or it was the worst flu I've ever had with a temperature that wouldn't stay down after 6 days (2 days max is normal). If I didn't have it, I'll get it soon due to my job.

It's incredibly likely that I already have it.
