  • They are having actual matches
  • They have wrestlers in the crowd talking shit and making bets
  • Full commentary team
  • Zero replying matches to fill time like the WWE did

Great show so far as well.

I hope those idiots up north were taking notes because this is how an empty-arena show is properly presented.

The signs at the end from Sammy were a great touch. Does he do this a lot? Write out messages for the commercials?

It really is. Fantastic show. Didnt even notice the empty crowd. It helps to have the workers out there, but I also pretty much only watch New Japan and its crowds dont make a lot a noise until shit gets crazy

Also, I hate American crowds now

I stopped watching WWE a few months ago due to declining interest. I really feel like I should start tuning in to AEW.

I havent been watching either of them, in only watch New Japan. But I will start watching AEW now. They knocked it out of the park tonight under the circumstances and I know theyve been putting in good shows before this

It's funny to me how some of the most interesting things about the current AEW product (Hangman Page, Britt Baker, the Dark Order) are things that were initially getting bad responses from the fans ("Hangman is too boring!" "Britt is terrible as a face!" "This fat creepy dude isn't good at all, the Dark Order sucks!") but then AEW took a left turn with them and have turned them into really good things. Hangman is over as hell as the badass "cowboy shit" babyface he's become, Britt turned heel and has been doing some great promos and getting crazy heat from the crowd, and the Dark Order storyline leading to the reveal of the Exalted One tonight has been must-watch content on TV and on social media.

These examples, along with tonight's Dynamite as a whole, are perfect examples of what AEW does well that WWE lacks: they're not afraid to flip the script. You can tell how both companies handled their "no fans" situation this week that WWE is committed to their overly-scripted setup and have no idea what to do when their script falls through. Meanwhile, AEW isn't so restricted, and they've adapted to negative situations (whether they be unexpected crowd reactions or the "no fans" thing going on now) on the fly and still put on great wrestling shows for the fans watching at home.

Yes, he does it most weeks during the PiP commercial break.
