Anyway keep in mind that Big Brother is almost certainly not airing this summer either. IMO they would've been better off keeping TAR in the summer as scheduled and doing a BB season in the fall to fill what is almost guaranteed at this point to be a Survivor void.

my guess is that ultimately cbs is more focused on trying to fill the inevitable holes in their schedule down the road rather than specifically timing their reality programming

I'm cautiously optimistic still, because at least we're hearing plans and strategy from other people, even if it all pertains to Tony.

On a different note, this season is REALLY flipping my opinion on Ben, because he's just SO much better when the editors aren't protecting him, and they're showing the kind of petty asshole he always was.

This episode feels so much better than last week. Yes, Tony's still a major focus, but the balance is just so refreshing. And there's so much personality from Ben and Sarah and Tony, and even the EoE people. I love it.

Jeremy has been a target as a physical and jury threat for several tribal councils.

Tony wins immunity, so Jeremy becomes the target.

Tony learns that Kim is targeting him, so he needs to target and eliminate her first.

All of this makes logical sense, all of the players' motivations have been explained, and whether Jeremy or Kim go home, the boot will feel satisfying, based on what we've seen in the edit.

I jinxed it. The episode was great, and the tribal council was all about the whisper bullshit and the episode tripped and fell right before the finish line.

I'm still not a fan of the constant whispering at TC (it's fun every now and then but it gets old every single week), but overall this was a vast improvement over last week.

Yeah. I'll try to be positive about this. This was one of the two best post-merge episodes. Only the tribal council really brought it down. It was good otherwise.

I just realized...if Natalie wins and comes back from EoE, it's entirely possible to have a boot order of female winners each getting voted out in the exact order they win Survivor.

Sandra quits EoE, Amber second boot, then Danni, Parvati, Sophie, Kim, with Denise, EoE Natalie, Michele, and Sarah all left.

It works by the edit order if you count their most recent win.

Amber, Danni, Parvati, Sandra (HvV), Sophie, Kim

Of course, Sandra actually went before Parvati but they swapped the order for better TV, so I'm not sure if that really counts.

In the episode, they showed the Parvati boot first, because it makes for better TV to end on the big Sandra blindside, rather than the obvious Parvati boot. But in reality, Sandra got voted out first, and then Parvati's tribe went to tribal council afterwards.

In the spirit of Cagayan Tony I was expecting something sneaky at 7 like what happened at 9... no idea which way it'll go though. The whispering at tribal trumps all.

she has to be one of the most underrated challenge competitors ever, at least among winners

she beat ozzy in the season where he won every challenge ever, to make sure he didn't win!
and crushed it again today

i'm stupidly daring to dream she can somehow escape the edge challenge....

So maybe an unintentional benefit of TAR32 being delayed to the fall will be that if it takes Survivor's timeslot for the season, it could bring in a larger audience and revitalize the show once it's safe to film again. At last check-in, Phil seemed hopeful that the show could eventually return to two seasons per year.

I'd like that too, but also agree with Naye that they could just as easily use it to plug a timeslot hole. Never going to forget that one season that lasted like 6 weeks because they did two hours each time... but logically that really would be the best spot to put it especially if Survivor's not happening then.

I think Ben is a good character for our character people because he is flawed. He thinks with his ego and not his strategy. He fights with people, he is a bit on the petty side, he is goofy when he wants to be, that guy is as far from a gamebot in a season that has a lot of gamebots I feel like it makes him stand out because he is without a doubt the most flawed person on the season. I'm sure there are some still hung up on his win but Ben being so much different than everyone else is a reason why he stands out here.

Oh yeah, no doubt. If Ben had been given this edit the first time around...okay, I still would've been annoyed for similar reasons as to why I'm annoyed by Nick's win...but at least it wouldn't be whitewashing his bad qualities in order to make him palatable to the audience. Ben has made a MAJOR turnaround with me as a result.

Both this week and last week's episode were fantastic, because I don't hate watch this show like a crazy person.

And Ben isn't my favorite but I was excited for him to return because he's a unique player. The more differing personalities the better. Strategic players, social players, idol hunters; they're all pretty well represented this season. Maybe Ben is a little bit redundant with Tony but he's still a fun addition.

We are missing a challenge beast though, so maybe they could have squeezed Mike Holloway in instead of Nick or Wendell. I guess Tyson kinda fits the bill but it's not really his Survivor identity.
