Is there a way to get your friends villagers to move to your island? I know there was a system set up for this in the old game

It's when it gets above 400 that you might have to worry. I had 524 bell turnips last week, and it was... actually fine for me, since I was just idling (and getting some nice tips!), but god help you if you actually want to play the game.

the map itself is still out of date but at least in this format it'll be easier to frequently edit... still wanna make another script now to output this data into a png map again tho

One of my villagers today said he wanted to move, and it gave me the option of telling him to stay, or saying goodbye. I've talked to all of my villagers everyday, and I've even given this particular one gifts that they've seemed to appreciate. I'm wondering if the game every so often, randomly decides that one of the villagers will want to move, and as long as you talk to them in that time frame (that same day?), you will get the option to stop them.

Thats how it has been since the beginning of the series. They will just randomly decide to leave and in previous games, sometimes when you ask them to reconsider they would still decide to leave. I havent heard of that part happening this time around though.

A lot of people will tell you that mistreating someone by hitting them with nets or making them get stuck in pitfall traps will make them want to leave, but that has never actually been true, only coincidence.

I'm thinking about using amiibo to bring in Tia the Elephant shaped like a teacup, but I already have a normal villager with Savannah, who's cool because she's a zebra.
