Uhh isn't that true of basically every TV show? Most shows don't kill the main character until the end of the series. Each season has a flash forward to what Saul is upto after Breaking Bad but that's it. So the show itself tells you that he's still alive, they know there's no tension about him dying. The show does a good job of introducing a bunch of other characters who weren't in Breaking Bad and their fates are unknown. This sets up the stakes for the final season perfectly, and I can't fucking wait.
