I never gave this much thought until it was on the radio. The average male keeps a pair of underwear for 7 years.

I purchased some new boxer briefs like 2 years ago and received some new ones as gifts not very long ago, but I didn't start paying attention to this until I heard it on the radio a couple years ago, so I try to buy new pairs every 2-3 years.

Be honest though, what's the oldest piece of underwear you have?

I bought some new ones last year. They usually last a few years before I throw them out. Usually when they get to the point where they're faded/stretched/torn a bit I start throwing them out individually and when I start to run low from throwing those out I go buy a couple packs of new ones.

When the elastic parts start to ~ they go on the watch list and soon meet their end

I believe this is one of the most overlooked things for men. Woman buy new underwear and bras at the very least every year.

I never throw them away. Once they have reached the end of their comfort/life cycle, I burn them.

Because they have reasons to, seeing as they have bodily fluids that can stain much more than men. Not to mention Im sure their flimsy shit can tear easily.

When they start having massive holes in them and/or are torn.

I've learned never to buy Fruit of the Loom again, the last batch of them all tore at the same seam after wearing them only a few times.

Its no different than that thread about guys not washing their legs or feet. Good to bring awareness to it.

Only time I throw away underwear is when it gets a hole in it. Which is rare.

I just went through my underwear and sock drawer and threw away 5 old underwear with tears and a bunch of really old, worn loose socks. Weird thing to do at 3 am I know, but if I don't do it now I might forget to do it later.
