My grandma developed stage 4 months under doctor's care. The doctors probably didn't do the biopsy until it was too late because they knew she couldn't handle the treatment.

We need a bill to pass to mandate that states give every voter the option to mail in a ballot this year.
Or else too many will be afraid to risk going out, standing in packed lines for hours, then touching the same voting machine.

That's my biggest fear for this year. There's so much at stake and so many people who won't be willing to go out and vote, for justifiable concerns about their own health.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) said its disgusting that Democrats are pushing to include money for mail-in voting in the next coronavirus relief bill, dismissing the idea as unnecessary despite the pandemic.

The fierce pushback from McCarthy comes on the heels of President Donald Trump urging Republicans on Twitter Wednesday to fight very hard when it comes to statewide mail-in voting. Trump who has suggested the practice could undermine GOP political prospects has also claimed that mail-in voting is corrupt.
McCarthy echoed a similar sentiment Thursday, saying theres also a lot of fraud that can happen with mail-in voting and raising concerns about ballot harvesting. Other Republicans, such as Rep. Greg Walden of Oregon, have argued that it would be a logistical challenge to force states to switch to a nationwide vote-by-mail system.
Although Trump has claimed that mail-in voting is rife with corruption, there is no evidence to suggest that voter fraud exists on a wide scale anywhere in the election system. The president himself cast a mail-in ballot in Florida as recently as last month for that state's primary election.

Democrats want to include money for state vote-by-mail efforts in their next big emergency rescue package, pointing out that normal elections violate the social distancing guidelines from the federal government and could pose a major public health risk.
But the effort has run into a wall of resistance from Trump and Republicans, who say its something that should be left up to the states not the federal government. The issue could prove to be a major sticking point in future negotiations.

Unless voters in states with Republican Congress people start sending letters to their Reps/Senators complaining about the issue, Republicans are gonna follow lock-step w/ their dear leader and oppose mail in ballots. "Let the states decide" = any state not fully controlled by Democrats (ie, like 90% of them) won't have it, cause Republicans will stone wall it at the state level, too.

Was gonna say, yeah. Republicans have been pushing very hard to prevent voting in general. From limited headcounts in limited polling locations, to mail in ballots that arrive far too late.

He wanted people to do an untested malaria medicine, likely because a man claimed (falsely) to have tested it in Stanford, though one of the outlets that frequent the left side of Facebook claimed it was because Trump's family have a financial stake in that medicine's sales (I would have to go digging for a link and don't have that much time today, sadly).

But yes, he claimed it was a hoax from the left, that he knew about it before anyone, that his people had it under control, and so on. Meanwhile, his followers believe every word of each and every statement without regards to self-contradiction. Like I said on a Discord channel at one point, his followers who've been kissing his ass have had their heads up it so long they are no longer familiar with the world outside. Reality means nothing to them, so looking at history to see that ending the lockdown prematurely would be bad won't happen, and trying out every bit of medical advice Trump comes up with will be a must to them.
