Truth is, nothing much has changed for Phil.

He never leaves his house, lives in a gated community and often has things delivered to him while sitting on his ass all day pkaying video games, while Kat cleans the house and takes care of their pet.

He is just doing his typical "woe is me" even though the entire country is literally on fire, he has to makr sure that everyone knows he has it the worst.

Phil has no idea what life is like, not not now, nor 5 years ago. Covid doesn't even inconvience him, given his life style, and now he is relatively safe, bitching from the comfort and protection from his home while people are literally dying in the streets.

He is completely disconnected from reality, if the looting and rioting would actually reach his community, or worse, he'd be completely lost. I do not wish ill upon Phil, but a reality check is sorely needed.

I like the idea that almost all of the money he makes has to go towards bills, taxes, and personal expenses. Replace his equipment? No, his viewers will have to donate extra for that... or just gift him the equipment.

If someone wanted to donate a game out of kindness to a streamer, sure, they can and I've seen it before. However, most streamers who aren't struggling financially (and Phil certainly isn't) will have money set aside to better their stream, whether it's buying new games, better equipment or just putting doing something to make it better. Nope, not Phil. Any new game that comes up has to be donated by his fans and he will "guilt trip" them into getting it for him. We've seen the extent of his laziness, so it shouldn't be surprising at all. He is one of the worst people I've ever seen with money, as I can't fathom how a normal person could have $5k in expenses a month.

A couple of weird things worth pointing out.

There is indeed no fucking way he spends 5k for his business, there isn't. But strangely enough, even if we assume that number to be true, it never includes money for his business. Upgrading equipment, buying periphirals, buying new games, nothing. On top of that, even though he has a business degree, he never learned one golden rule: you have to spend money to make money. Phil just wants to make money and ideally not spend a penny of it.

He's never learned that it's a terrible idea to let his viewers know what upsets him. If he just brushed things off and acted as if they didn't bother him, then people would stop bringing them up. Instead, he flips out over the most minor of things, thus ensuring that those subjects get mentioned again and again. I find this particularly hilarious because even a child can learn to stop reacting to teasing or insults when it becomes clear that their reaction only makes the situation worse.

In episode 4.739 of Phil has no selfawareness:

He called working retail a dead end job. You know... the same guy who has been playing videogames for 12 years straight... He also instantly forgets his wife works retail. Then Phil said that the gym is for fat people. So some asked if he thought Kat was fat, since she goes to the gym. Naturally this person was berated.

Phil really has no mind about he is saying, lacks any kind of awareness, and if people point out the logical fallacies they get shit on.

Also, he hasn't quit 3 Houses so much as he is avoiding it. We all know he hates it, and as such he has replaced it with Sleeping Dogs for now.

Papavera might be one of the most pathetic fans Phil has ever had, even moreso than the whales dropping hundreds of dollars a month. He doesn't seem to be one of the ones that supports Phil simply to stick it to the trolls. He comes across as one of the few legit fans who wants Phil to succeed and will go out of his way to help him--and for his efforts he gets nothing. I wish this guy would realize how much he's being used.

I look at them the way I might look at people in a cult. Most cults seem obviously bad, the kind of thing that anyone with a speck of common sense would be able to see as a blatant scam that only benefits the guy in charge. While I marvel at the stupidity of the people taken in by something like that, I can't help but feel sorry for the loneliness and desperate need for acceptance that must have led them to think it was a good idea.

Got caught up, and Phil is always his best when playing fighting games. His excuses are fascinating as ever, and what's more interesting is the way he acts about it, like he exists in a vacuum.

Every single complaint he has, is also true (or should be) for his opponents. If the netcode is bad, then it should be bad for them too, seeing how they are playing the exact same game.

If there is lag, his opponents experience it too. Any single excuse could easily be applied to whoever he faces online. But not in Phil's mind. No, he even takes it one step further. He talks as if the game is almost a sentient being, with a mind of it's own. It can decide to roll back, not let his moves come out, and actually help out hia oppents, making them win.

It's fucking amazing.

And his "online tactics" excuse is bullshit. Of course people have online tactics, IT'S A FUCKING ONLINE GAME. And whenever he says something doesn't work offline, I always laugh. When was the last time he actually played anyone offline?

His narcissism works overtime to protect that fragile little ego of his.

He will never again in his life play a fighting game offline, but he will also never adapt to online play. It's baffling, too, because he clearly hates every second of it unless he's winning--and unless he's playing absolute scrubs the entire time, he's generally not winning. Let's face it, though, if he actually did play people offline, he'd still be losing, and we'd get to hear about the faulty controller and the game dropping his inputs and input delay and a bunch of other lame excuses.

That's the scary part, because Phil is far too lazy to be looking for these people. They are finding him. Imagine watching one of Phil's garbage, zero-effort streams and thinking to yourself, "I am going to devote hours of my life (and hundreds of dollars) to helping this bitter, angry old man who can't figure out how to play Minecraft."

This will end the way it always does. One day Phil will go a little too far in his abuse of Papavera, and Papavera will suddenly realize that Phil is a bad person who had been using him the entire time (something that everyone else realized almost immediately). He'll air his grievances on Twitter or in chat, Phil will blame everything on Papavera before blocking/banning him, and before long some new paypig will emerge to replace him. Circle of life.

He said on pre-stream that he started Minecraft, is AFK to watch the PS5 reveal stream so that Papavera can "work".

This is the quality people are paying him for.

On that not, there is literally no reason to watch Phil's reaction to the PS5 reveal stream (he said he couldn't live comment, because he wants to collect his thoughts and give his opinion. Thing is, he only talked about things as they happened, same as his gameplay reactions: did you see that thing? Wow that thing happened, etc.

He then got angry at the lack of release dates.

This is what he made his viewers wait for.
