A WolfRayet star in WR 104, about 8,000 light-years (2,500 pc) away, is considered a nearby GRB candidate that could have destructive effects on terrestrial life. It is expected to explode in a core-collapse-supernova at some point within the next 500,000 years and it is possible that this explosion will create a GRB. If that happens, there is a small chance that Earth will be in the path of its gamma ray jet.

Knowledge of things deeper in space, out of our milky way, are guesses at best. There's probably way worse things out there that are beyond comprehension. One of my favorite fun facts: The Milky Way alone has an estimated 11 billion Earth like planets. I wouldn't be surprised that basic life is all around the galaxy. And this galaxy only has 200-400 billion stars. Our sister galaxy, Andromeda, has about a trillion. Space is not scary. They are not anymore scary than any other celestial object. They don't suck things in to them like you see in movies. You have to be on a direct trajectory toward them to go in or else the momentum from their rotation would just fling you away at near light speeds. Hence those jets you see coming from the cores of active galaxies.
Yeah, there have been some near light speed travel proposals of a ship stealing momentum from a rotating black hole by flying through its ergosphere and using the gravity to slingshot a ship. We've actually done something similar by using the sun's gravity to slingshot the Voyager space probes to speeds a normal launch would be incapable of. --- "But who prays for Satan?
