Two men involved in the fatal shooting of Ahmaud Arbery near Brunswick, Georgia, have been arrested and face murder and aggravated assault charges, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Gregory McMichael and his son, Travis McMichael, were taken into custody, the GBI said Thursday evening. They were booked into the Glynn County Jail.
The GBI said in a tweet it would hold a news conference Friday at 9 a.m. ET to discuss the case. It did not say when the McMichaels would appear in court.
The arrests come two days after a 36-second video that appears to show the deadly confrontation surfaced online.

Please remember that had the video not come out and inflamed the public perception of this these two murderers who literally chased a man down so they could kill him would still be walking free.

This. I haven't seen the whole video but the clip on the news today showed two people fighting over a shot gun. I don't know any details about what actually happened but there will be some intent and self defense issues just from that bit I saw. I hope they get made an example of though. People are sick.

From what I've read, the delay in getting this to a grand jury and prosecuted is because Greg McMichael (the shooter) was a former investigator and detective who had worked cases with many in the prosecution. So they had to continually recuse themselves to avoid bias, tampering, etc.

Gregory and Travis McMichael told police that Arbery matched the description of someone caught on a security camera committing recent break-ins in the neighborhood.

Barnhill said in a letter recusing himself from the case that Gregory and Travis McMichael were acting in accordance with the law.

"It appears their intent was to stop and hold this criminal suspect until law enforcement arrived," he wrote. "Under Georgia law, this is perfectly legal."

In that same letter, which was obtained by The New York Times, Barnhill said the shooting of Arbery was in self-defense. Georgia's "stand your ground" law passed in 2006 says a person using force in self-defense has "no duty to retreat and has the right to stand his or her ground."

In the full clip he's jogging and they ambush him, he tries to run around and then the fight for the gun starts
